A: Hello! Thank you for your question. This kit is intended for ages 6+ so the amount of adult involvement depends on the age and abilities of the individual child. That said, we do recommend and encourage adults to accompany their child on this introductory exploration of chemistry and to read all safety rules with your child prior to experimenting and emphasize the importance of following these rules while experimenting.

Great chemistry set for creative play
We haven’t tried the experiments including with the kit, but I got this just for my kids to make “potions.” It’s a great kit for that—just give them some different colored water and they are set for an hour, which is way longer than they play with anything else. They love it.

Avoid Unless You Like Frustration
The first instructions that we were following required 3 more cups than were provided. That needed to hold 100ml each but the largest measurement on the cups given was 80cc, which is not even close or the same measurement. In addition, the instructions were sub-par considering an experiment that needs specific steps, amounts, and materials. Very disappointed and not really interested to try another one in the kit.
