Many years ago, as Thomas lay in a hospital bed following emergency surgery and appearing to be unconscious, he heard the doctor's words, "We're sorry. We've done all we can. We're not sure he's going to make it." Within moments, after declaring to himself that he was not going to die, he soon began clearly witnessing the unstoppable process of his own death.

Upon his return, Thomas had no memories of ever before having been here in this world but he recalled every detail of his journey from death, to life, to healing.
