Alpha Arbutin is a biosynthetic active ingredient that targets the look of spots and overall uneven skin tone. It is used at a high 2% concentration versus the commonly used concentration of 1%. The formula is supported with the inclusion of a next-generation form of Hyaluronic Acid for enhanced skin availability. Alpha Arbutin is much stronger in effect than Arbutin or Beta Arbutin for visible skin brightening.

I have hyperpigmentation, so I was excited to find this product. Bummed it caused a reaction on my test spot. Will never know if it would work :(

I was skeptical about this product, but decided to try it. First few days I tried it in order of cleansing first, serum 2nd, and than moisturizer last. It dried out my skin out and it seem to sit on the skin, and than I put my moisturizer on. So after trying it that way for a few days, I researched on the internet and found people mixing it with moisturizer. After doing that quite a few times, my hyperpigmentation and melasma have started to fade quicker than expected. That was within a month. I do this in the am and pm. I will continue to do this till my spots have faded. Some things to know about me: Im asian, 53 years old, with dry skin, medium to tan skin tone.

I can tell this product has helped with my dark spots; however, it did cause a few small breakouts. I have melanated, combination skin and it is not sensitive. I personally don't think this was a purge for me like some others said. The breakouts literally went away the day after I stopped using it. I also did not do a skin test first, so I may have just had a bad reaction. Breakouts aside, this product did actually work quickly .

I've tried all sorts of skincare products, from drugstore to high end/medical grade. Nothing fades my dark spots or hydrates my skin like this serum. Make sure to put it on damp skin, since it has HA. Love it and couldn't recommend enough!

I was pretty excited to use this product since i suffer from pigmentation all around my face from previous scars and acne. Ive been using this product for almost a month, applying it everyday and it hasnt made a difference. I also suffer from hormonal acne and this product didnt help the hormonal acne scars.

There were so many good reviews I decided to try it. After a couple weeks in utter dismay at the condition of my skin I decided to read the one star reviews. I wish I'd read them first because the minute I saw redness I would have stopped. Now I have acne on my cheeks and chin where I have not had issues in years. I'm so sad. Hopefully as others reported my skin will heal quickly now I've stopped using.

This really worked to get rid of my dark spots/acne scars from some acne i had on my cheeks. I had these spots for so long and recently bit the bullet to try and pivot my skincare routine to focus on getting rid of those scars and thiss helpd a lot. Although i tried, i didnt always use it daily, but was sure to only apply it to clean skin after i shower, and by now i have only used half the bottle and my marks are almost completely gone now. I am very happy with the results i would reccommend and would use again. I am confident that by the time i finish the bottle my marks will be completely gone :)

I love the ordinary brand and decided to give this a try for some dark spots that I have . unfortunately I have seen no difference in my dark spots and I used it consistently for 3 months. Would not recommend.

In my experience this alpha arbutine works on my super sensitive skin. I have purchased 4 bottles and is part of my daily skin care routine; key for me is morning and nightly on freshly washed skin. Alternatively with Philosophy purity made simple one step facial cleanser or Shea Moisture Black soap. Afterwards apply ELF skin holy hydration face cream with hyaluronic acid + peptides or ELF pure skin moisturizer with ceramides+niacimide always add sunscreen in my morning routine. =)

I am employed at Ulta and spent lots of time looking around my store for the perfect products. I came across this and sort of blindly trusted it as it said it got rid of dark spots and evened tones. My face has NEVER had such an even appearance it is truly like a baby's face. Very smooth! I reccomend in partnership with Fresh Rosewater Toner as that does an amazing job cleaning out and minimizing pores before filling in the tone with this product. It worked after about a month so stay persistent and use it twice a day:)
