I wish it had location services as an option where it would turn on when I arrived home and turn off when I left. You can schedules in the app and also do sunrise and sunset. It’s compatible with Google Home.

Beware
I bought this and 6 weeks in, it stopped working. I noticed it was burned and still smoking a bit. I contacted customer service thru TPLink and they took forever to get back to me. They stated that it was the cause of not being directly connected to the wall, which it was. Just beware that they catch fire and that TPLINK customer service does not care.

Not worth the frustration
Avoid!! The first plug I bought, I had to exchange because it wouldn't connect. That one connected. Now, that has been working fine, except I changed my Wi-Fi network name And it won't connect. I have looked up all the troubleshooting, try to factory reset, but I can't get this thing to connect now. I'm going to buy a different brand. Not worth the frustration!

Hi, Thank you for your review. If you recently changed the name or password of your WiFi network, you will need to perform a soft reset (network settings reset) on the smart plug. To accomplish this, simply press and hold the button on the side of the plug for 5 seconds while it is plugged into a power outlet. Once the LED begins flashing, you can use the Kasa app to add the smart plug to your new network. If you're having difficulty connecting them to your network during setup, please ensure your router's 2.4GHz WiFi signal is sufficiently strong at the smart device's location. Please also ensure your smartphone is not connected to a VPN during setup, as this may interfere with the installation process. Pretty easy to set up. Has its own app for controls. I bought this for use with Alexa, which does work, but you have to open the plugs app and re-connect with Alexa every single time. Don’t like that part. Maybe would return for an Amazon certified plug. If you don’t mind to use the specified app, works great

Once you have completed the Alexa integration process for the smart plug, you should not need to repeat the integration each time you open the app. We always recommend ensuring your router's WiFi signal is adequately strong in the smart device's location. Within the Kasa Smart app there's a feature that allows you to measure WiFi signal strength of your smart devices. When the app is connected, please check the signal strength in the Device Settings menu. Smart Plug Addict
I now have a smart outlet addiction because of these plugs. I did my research and found that these were highly rated, so I initally bought 4 as they were the. 7.99 per plug. The ease of setting them up on the Kasa app was great, the Google Home app was more of a pain. I bought 2 more the next day...then 2 more after that. Please note that half are for my elderly mother, so she can control her lights and electric blanket without possible injury. But.... I'm now looking around for more devices to plug into these. I'll soon have a house full of lamps, coffee makers and tvs if I don't stop. I did also buy the two outlet outdoor plug for my balcony lights, and that is going to be great in -20 below Minnesota weather this winter.

Returned.
I had 2 of these devices and neither would stay connected to my network for some reason. Customer support was nonexistent as well.

They Work / Good Product
Bought these to make turning on Christmas lights simple. Was easy to set up, they are sized perfectly so two plugs fan go on the same wall outlet (Another brand has circle ones that won’t let you plug them in at the same outlet without hitting the other). Was able to tell Alexa to turn on the Christmas lights and both outlets would come on for the lights and the tree.

User friendly smart plug
I bought 2 of these smart plugs. They’re very easy to set up and use. The free app is user friendly and lets you turn it on/off. It also allows you to add a name and icon/ picture for each unit so you can keep track of what’s plugged in to each one. One of the ones I ordered came defective, but target was quick to replace it with a working one. I would definitely recommend this product and buy more in the future.
