This tea is my go-to when I have a sore throat for any reason; whether that's because of a cold, acid reflux, or my voice is tired from speaking too much (which sometimes happens as part of my job.) I absolutely love the traditional medicine teas. I'm taking it over 20 years or however long they've been around. some of the ones that are good are limited. but anybody with a sore throat you drink this tea and I'm telling you with a very short time you told feels better. the one I got was originally with slippery elm they have two different kinds now actually three I don't know how the other ones work but this one I can't you can't beat. I remember somebody on TV they asked her she's a singer how do you sing with a sore throat, and she says oh this is T I took and she couldn't do the name of it I'm screaming it like she could hear me. if you can find the Gypsy cold here that's great for your sinuses in your chest but for sore throat nothing's going to be this

People saying it tastes bad are babies, it as a very light sweet taste and feels really good going down. This stuff has helped my stomach especially is I drink alcohol or anything. Also my throat feels amazing. Don’t drink too much if you take heavy medication :)

The BEST tea for singing and sore throats!
This NEVER lets me down! I only buy the original with slippery elm, because it can tell the difference right away. Truly coats my throat and feels so good. I drink this every time I’m going to sing for church or even just practice or rehearse at home. It is SO worth the price (which I feel is reasonable) and I’m glad I can order in a six-pack. When I am actually sick, this stuff feels soooo good going down. Thank you, and please never stop making the original with slippery elm! The others don’t work as well for me. Oh and it tastes amazing, my little kids always try to sneak a sip when I’m drinking one, it’s naturally sweet

Blood Pressure Warnings
For us, the licorice content, which raises blood pressure, did not balance out the cinnamon content, which lowers blood pressure and blood sugar—which we already struggle with. It tasted too sweet and knocked us out, after which we learned licorice causes lethargy. "Throat Coat" may be a good marketing name, but the tea seems to affect blood pressure more than it does anything to heal the throat. It is certainly no more effective than any other tea in that regard. We would not recommend it, especially not to those with high- or low-BP issues.

Throat Coat
I’m not sure how this works so miraculously, but I had a bronchoscopy followed by a sore throat that lasted a full week instead of the anticipated 2 days. I bought this Throat Coat tea hoping for a little relief and my throat was back to normal by the next day. I do not like black licorice at all or the sweet aftertaste, but it’s completely worth it to me to relieve my throat pain.

Licorice flavor
Be careful which of these you buy - I ended up with the licorice flavor which to me tastes like vomit. The eucalyptus and mint one is good though
