A: Unzip cover & remove 3 internal fill pillows. I wash all pieces (cover & pillows) in my washing machine. The bed fits & cleans better if it's dismantled. I dry on extra low to protect fill material.

Q: There is a zipper for the cover, but I can't get the cover off, because the cover is attached to the filling at the tufted areas. Is there any way to remove the cover?

A: Hi - Thank you for reaching out with your question. The fill is contained in compartmentalized liners and all of the compartments can be removed. The center compartment can be removed, or you can leave it there and wash the cover with the center compartment still in place. It is safe to wash both the fill and liner. Hope this helps! - Carmen

Highly HIGHLY recommend
I’ve had this dog bed for over two years, so I can confidently say, it might just be the best one out there. My two cocker spaniels are obsessed with it. The size, quality, and color are perfect, and the fact that it’s machine washable is a total lifesaver. It’s survived every kind of pet mess imaginable (yes, all of them), and after countless washes, it still looks brand new. I couldn’t recommend it more and would buy it again in a heartbeat.

Finally a bed that works for my "leaky" male dog. Washes Easy.
See pictures of before (covered in dirt and urine) and after washing and how the inner padding is still clean! I have a 76 lbs. senior male dog who has intermittely started leaking urine. I fully expected the urine to leak through to the padding but so far it has not! It does even smell yet. Since then I have tried to keep a towel over the bed but he of course scruches it up and still leaks on it. I have tried so many beds and never expected to find such a quality bed at Target! I love the aesthetic of it in my living room. The cover material is tough, quick drying and doesnt show hair as bad as the others. The cover washes up perfect! I wash it about once a week. It can be a little tricky to get the padding back in but it's not bad once you've done it a couple of times. The inner pillows do have zippers so you could restuff them.

Great for dogs with epilepsy or other medical needs because you can wash the whole thing even the XL because it has multiple inserts
I have a German shepherd with epilepsy, and travertine floors in my home. She knows to go into her “house” (the table her bed is under) if she has a seizure because she doesn’t get hurt flopping against the hard floor. She loses her bladder sometimes when she has a seizure, so I have gone through many many beds. Every type and brand I have tried you can take the cover off, but the “mattress” is too big for the washer since she’s a large dog. I just removed the cover on this boots and Barkley bed for the first time to wash at least that and I was so pleasantly surprised that the inserts are three separate pieces, allowing me to wash the cover and one piece in one load and the other two pieces in another load. This simple feature truly improves not just my quality of life but my dog’s too! I am able to keep her bed fresher longer now and also save myself money not having to budget a new $75-$90 dog bed every month or two! I had to write this review because I wanted other epi dog parents to know but also boots and Barkley! All dog beds should be like this!

Favorite Pet Bed for Small Dog and Cats
I bought this for my small dog whose bed gets taken over by my three cats. They can all fit on this bed in harmony. My pets love it so much I have bought three for around the house. I like that it’s washable. My only complaint is it is a little difficult to put back together after washing but it’s not a big deal. I mostly picked this one because of the size and design. It’s hard to find a pet bed that blends in with the style of the room, but this one does and it’s perfect.

Dont buy this bed!
Worst dog beds to clean. I have two younger labs and one of them threw up on their bed. It wasn’t even that much but it went straight through the bed and ruined all the stuffing. There was no point in saving it since all the stuffing was ruined. Within 2 days of owning the beds I had to throw them both away. Logically, any dog bed should be someone resistant to liquid. I should have done better research. Plus, why does it have 3 different stuffing areas? It should be all one and would be easier to take the cover on and off. Less $120 but less ones learned!

Not durable
My 8 week old puppy was able to chew through the cover and inner cushion within a few hours. Fluff from the inside was everywhere. I tried taking out the cushion that was ripped but then the zipper on the bottom fell off so there’s no way to put it back together. She has another bed that’s thicker outside material (still cloth) that she can’t get through, wish I’d gotten something more like that. The cover layer is so flimsy and gets dirty so fast. For how expensive it was I wish it lasted longer. What a waste!

I loved this bed!
I loved this bed, and so did my dog! She’s a Belgian Malinois and getting older, so bed support is needed for her joints. She loved this bed and had enough room to really stretch out, and slept soundly when she needed to. Unfortunately, although the cover felt waterproof, it was not. She went though a UTI bought recently, and the bed needed to be thrown out. The stuffing on the inside absorbed all of her night-time accidents. Although not waterproof, it was still a great bed while it lasted!

This is the best dog bed I’ve ever bought. I have two large dogs, Pyrenees and an Estrella Shepard who are heavy and also who like to fluff their space before laying down and these things have stood the test of time. Had them for over a year and they wash super well. Dirt, good, blood you name it, just zip em back up, wash with borax and they come out looking good as new. No shrinking in the dryer and the inner stuffing fluffs right back up as you would fluff a people pillow. Never buying any other dog bed again these things are the absolute best and keep my pups comfy and off the hard floor even after all this time.
