Trims incompletely and rough skin results

I bought two of these trimmers to use for trimming hard dry skin closely around the finger nails. I’m experienced with this type of tool and I was forced to replace the one I’ve had for decades. Both products from my purchase have exactly the same issue. The metal is darker than stainless steel and it is not polished and the blades do not completely sever the skin or cuticle. So, I have to rip away each clipping which leaves a very rough and sore skin surface. And, the tool tends to go too deep maybe due to the flared out design causing pain, or too shallow. I am now shopping to replace both tools with a better brand that has the shape of the blades less flared and more cupped inward to protect skin.

These clip well, sharp, angled well, however the little bar that moves and allows them to clip, moves ALL THE TIME. It doesn't stay for more then 2 clips. It like slides right out of place. Super frustrating. I keep it in my purse because it's better then nothing when you're out and about but would never use at home for regular use
