Defective junk that you can't exchange and you'll be judged by the rude employees if you try

I had this for less than 6 months, I used it once before and the second time I used it the metal clip on the inside literally snapped and sliced my hand open. When I took it back to Target here locally, I explained that it was defective and I just wanted to exchange it because I had literally only used it twice and it broke. The teenage kid that came to assist me at the customer service desk was not only rude but also was snide, condescending, and judgemental of me. Granted, I was wearing cutoff jean shorts and a basic tee with chucks, so I guess maybe I was dressed well enough to complain about a defective product in his eyes. Then he went on to tell me that the return policy is 30 days, 60 if you have a Target credit card (which I do not as I have six other cards and don’t need another one.) When I explained that I did not want to return it; I simply wanted to exchange a defective product that I had only used twice before it broke and injured me, his response was again rude and condescending and he told me if I had nothing else to complain about then he needed to get back to working. I genuinely wanted to scream because I get it, they have policies, but a DEFECTIVE product being exchanged isn’t a return and I didn’t want my money back, I wanted the same item that wasn’t defective. I’m half tempted to never shop there again; to be honest. I know I wasn’t in my scrubs like I would normally be when I’m there after I’m finished working at the hospital, but the fact that I have been treated much better by employees there when in my scrubs vs when I’m in street clothes that you can see my tattoos is more than enough for me to never shop there again.

This is my favorite cuticle nipper thus far and I have bought at least 5 different ones in the last year. It is easy and comfortable to use and I’ve been using it for several months and it is still sharp and has not broken like others have.

These are horrible. Waste of money honestly. When you cut your cuticles you should have a smooth cut without needing to pull. These are very dull. I tried giving myself a mani and pedi and these are the worst nippers I’ve ever purchased (I’d also like to add I’m also a licensed manicurist) save your money.

Works well. The metal hinge is removable, so if it flips out one can fix it. Nice and sharp

I typically buy Sephora or Tweezerman cuticle cutters and tried something new. these don't even come close to cutting your cuticles. this is probably more designed for man hands that have chunks on the sides that are thicker than your nail itself. really poor quality.

Our cuticle nippers are hand sharpened with a precision tip. However it is a 1/2 jaw vs.1/4 jaw which may be the difference you are experiencing. Thank you, JAPONESQUE Customer Service

Spring broke after about a year
3 out of 5 stars
Anonymous - 1 year ago
I LOVE how these cut, how comfortable they are to use, that they come with a cap to cover the sharp part of the cuticle trimmer and how aesthetically pleasing they are. The reason I am giving 3 stars is for lack of longevity. The spring just broke on me so it has made the product useless, which is really irritating bc it’s a hunk of metal that’s going to go in a landfill. You can see in one of the pictures where the other leg is cracked as well. MANUFACTURER, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND either making the spring into a stronger metal or at least offering replacement springs so you can continue to use the product. It’s so wasteful and not environmentally friendly to have to replace these cuticle trimmers. It’s not paper that’s going to disintegrate.

I’ve owned two sets of these now and both broke after the same amount of time in the same spot. The metal clip weakens making them unusable and breaks off.

I am extremely disappointed with these. I was excited to buy …. the tips do NOT line up appropriately, the soft touch finish is slippery, and they broke during the first manicure!!! Shooting the metal blade into the air and nearly hitting my eye. These are dangerous, I could have lost my eye doing a simple manicure.

One fatal flaw

ght five of these cuticle nippers. They are great and sharp. However, they have a major design flaw; the metal spring fatigues in the same spot every time and breaks within a few months of light use. I would hope that you use a stronger metal or provide spares in the package. I have 4 still sharp nippers that couldn't use because there is no spring. I had to build ones with paperclips but they do not hold for long either. I keep buying because the sharpness is uncompared to other nippers, but I would expect a better design.

I threw this out. It's not sharp at all. If i wanted my cuticles to bleed while they were ripped off i would just bite them, okay.

I’ve had an OPI pair of nippers for almost 10 years. The flex part broke so I needed a replacement. I picked these up in the store thinking I wouldn’t have to wait for some to be shipped and unfortunately target didn’t sell the opi brand. After 10 years of use, the opi are still sharper than these on day 1. These are awful. They are so dull. Look and feel is nice but they’re totally useless. Save your money. Buy a better brand.
