  • A: The blades stay sharp for up to 4 uses depending on how much skin you're exfoliating each use & the coarseness of your hair. They are designed to be disposed once they are no longer sharp, they cannot be resharpened.

Q: Does this cuticle trimmer work for left and right hand trimming? Are the blades set up to cut with eases no matter which hand is performing the self-trim of their own hands?

  • A: Hi! Yes, this tool can be used with both hands – the handles are the same on both sides so there shouldn’t be a problem using the tool with the left hand.     Faulty mechanism as others report!

    Faulty mechanism. It's going back to Target for malfunctioning. If enough of us do this they may correct the problem. I was a professional nail tech 25 years and only grabbed this because it's 1/4 jaw(hard to find) and the Japonesque brand which Ive trusted for years for at home use. I have never seen anything like this! LOL It's ludicrous that these were approved to go out to stores this way. I oiled the hinges and where it meets and still it functions with the ease of an old rusty wrench.

    Mechanism sticks shut

    Maybe I got a faulty one, but when I clamp this to cut my cuticles, it sticks and doesn't open back up. Like every single time. I have another brand that bounces open more quickly once you start releasing pressure on the handles. This one doesn't do that for me and I accidentally cut myselt too deep.

They were securely packaged, and I liked the matte texture of the metal handles to help give a little grip. The hinge is well constructed with a good amount of spring, and doesn't appear that it will easily break (as previously cuticle nippers have). The nippers are super sharp and cut very cleanly. They aren't too thick, so I am able to catch smaller pieces and be precise while using them. I will absolutely continue to use these for years, and am convinced to look into some of Japonesque's other personal care tools!

The clippers are stainless steel and feel well made. The precision blades make it easy to cut the little snags and hangnails. I’ve been looking for a good cuticle clipper and this is my new favorite. I just wish it had some kind of carrying case or something to store it in.
