Q: Is this accessory compatible with the 3500 series?
submitted by Nana H - 3 years ago
A: Hi there! This product will not work on the A3500. The product needed for the A3500 is called the Blending Cup Starter Kit.
The personal cup adapter for the Vitamix blender offers a convenient solution for single-serving smoothies, allowing guests to blend directly in the cup for easy transport. However, many guests have expressed concerns about its blending performance, particularly with thicker ingredients and frozen items. While some appreciate the ease of use and cleanup, others find the design awkward and prone to leaks. Overall, it serves as a practical addition for those seeking smaller portions, but improvements in design and functionality are desired.

Useless if you use ice
Specifically bought the 750 blender because it was compatible with these personal use cups. We are unable to make a smoothie in these cups, which was the whole purpose. It gets stuck on a few cubes of ice for a smoothie. We have not used them since the first week of attempts. Waste of money. We would have purchased the higher end newer blender models had we known the personal cup was useless.

Okay but would not buy again
I was so excited to get this attachment because of how frequently I make smoothies. I thought it would make the process and clean up more efficient but found this to be more cumbersome to use and clean that I barely reach for it. It doesn't blend as well if you want thicker smoothies and it leaks everytime you unscrew it. The only pro is that the same bottle you used to blend in can be taken on the go due to the cap. I would have returned it but I thought I would have loved it so I didn't try it out until closer to the end of the return window and then missed the window by a few days when I realized.

Personal Cup adapter - Not satisfied
I am very disappointed with the 20 oz Personal Cup. The blending performance is nowhere near what I expected from Vitamix. Food tends to get stuck at the far end of the blades and often remains unblended, requiring frequent stopping and shaking of the container to achieve acceptable results. Another major drawback is the design of the cup itself. The bottom is very narrow, making it difficult and inconvenient to clean thoroughly, especially after blending thicker ingredients. In contrast, the standard 64 oz container performs exceptionally well. It delivers the powerful, smooth, and consistent blending quality that Vitamix is known for. I have had excellent results with the 64 oz container and find it significantly more effective and user-friendly. Based on my experience, I would not recommend the 20 oz Personal Cup. Vitamix should seriously reconsider the design and performance of its small single-serve container, as it falls far short of the high standards set by the company’s full-size containers.

No good
Odd design. Doesn’t blend well nothing like the fill size blender.

Hi, thank you for taking the time to provide this feedback. It is important to know that because it is not the full-sized container and you do not have the ability to use the tamper, it is going to blend differently. You will want to layer the opposite way you would in the full-sized container so that when you turn the cup upside down the heavy ingredients will then be at the top, pushing the other ingredients down to the blades.

Doesn’t work the majority of the time
Even though it stated that it is compatible with my Vitamix, it doesn’t recognize it the majority of the time. It’s bulky, takes up more storage space, awkward to use and just a bad design. The original personal cup blender was much better. It at least worked. What a waste of money…

Vitamix revived
This cup adapter is fantastic! We had given up using our Vitamix as it was so hard to get all the mixture out of the container. We even bought the scrapper for it. It has been sitting on our counter for a few years now. But no we use it everyday to make our smoothies.

The cup adapter is worst design. It is a pain to put on and takae off. Don't understand why it couldn't just be a smaller adapter. When making smoothies it is SO cumbersome to unscrew and shake or mix stuff because even though it is Vitamix , it doesn't really break down frozen fruits very well , without a good amount of liquid. Have been trying to see if I can get a different adapter. Is there one? For such an expensive machine, this should have been thought through a bit more.

Rethink this whole personal cup system!
Vitamix, it's time for a total redesign of the Personal Cup Adaptor. There is a huge market for single serving smoothie and drink making. I know you guys could update this and nail it! Make a system that comes with cups in 2 or 3 sizes. How about 20oz, 24oz and 32oz. Design the blade base to not loosed up while running on the blender base. Make the cups in stainless steel and easier to clean, no interior ridges. Still make plastic cups cause half the folks will buy them. Design a system that give folks options on what to buy as people are very particular with how they use the machine to make their drinks each morning.

Tough to clean
I have been using these cups daily for years. I have a smoothie each morning and love being able to blend it in the cup. What I don’t love is the design of the cup. It here are rigid that run vertically down the inside of the cup, making it impossible to clean the corners down at the bottom of the cup. It’s too narrow to fit my had down in there to scrub appropriately. I have used a large bottle brush, a small bottle brush… I have tried putting different things in the cup and blending to clean, but nothing works. Also with us all ingesting microplastics, I am hoping Vitamix starts rolling out glass container options or stainless steel like the old days.

It's not good for Indian cooking
I purchased this to make Indian chutney in small batches. Vitamix was a replacement for my Indian blender. But we cannot grind small quantities in a Vitamix as they do not have a small 1 1/2 cup to 2 cup jars. When I use the personal cup adaptor it does not grind with minimum water. I also have a Ninja blender and the 18 oz. Power Nutri™ Bowl which does a better job grinding coconut and other drier ingredients because of the built in tamper.

Personal cup adapter needs ALOT of reddesign
My ninja personal blender finally died so I needed a replacement. Since I already have a vitamix, I thought I would buy the personal cup adapter instead of another Ninja. I regret this purchase. This is the worst design I have ever seen for a blender cup. I use this primarily for protein shakes. Because I have liquid in them, one has to put the cup with the blade on with the cup upright. It is extremely difficult and if you don't get it exactly right it will spill all over when you turn it over. Additionally, it is incredibly difficult to remove the cup after blending. I don't know what size hands you have to have to do this comfortably, but I do not have them. I literally dread this experience every morning. Sorry, Vitamix. I love your blenders, but this is a huge miss for me.

Not great for smoothies
Wanted to love this for smoothies (bought it because it was less bulky to bring out/clean) but the fruit always sinks to the bottom and becomes too thick to blend with the liquid. I’ll just stick to the normal blender container.

The adapter works but the small containers shed plastic. I threw it away.
1 reply from Vitamix team - 8 months ago
Hi, we are sorry to hear your threw your product away. It is important to know the Vitamix containers do not release any plastic particles during the blending process. Though it appears as scratches when looking at the container, the marring you see is simply a cosmetic denting of the plastic. The material is not being carved away, as the markings you see are just minor indentations in the plastic. Your container is safe to continue to use.

Nope!
This is the absolute worst if you want to do smoothies with frozen items. I usually make a smoothie with 1 cup liquid, frozen berries (1/4 - 1/3 C), 1/2 T protein powder and some agave syrup. The syrup always sticks to the sides as soon as you flip the container (no matter the order you put it in) and the protein.powder is wasted as it never fully mixes in. I usually find at least 1 berry that missed getting fully blended. I DO NOT recommend it if you have similar ingredients! I have tried to increase liquid, but the agave and powder always have the same issue.
