Q: How easy is this blender to clean? Is it like a traditional blender of two rubber rings to remove? I am looking for something simple to clean, i.e. take top off base, unscrew lid and put in dishwasher
A: Yes, it is easy to clean the Ninja Nutri-Blender Pro with Auto-iQ - BN401 as all pieces (apart from the base) are top-rack dishwasher safe. Check out the user guide here: https://support.ninjakitchen.com/hc/en-us/article_attachments/5043424143516

The jars are easy to, I have a bottle brush to get the bottom, but my sponge and hand almost reach the bottom my hand are not tiny. I wear a medium rubber glove. The mediums are snug like they should be, largest are more comfortable but too big to be snug like for detail work. I hope that helps. I love this blender. Also I can fill the jars with my smoothie stuff and put the blade on quick and set it to blend and I can walk away from while I finish getting dressed, and 2 minutes later its finished blending, perfectly, I take the blade piece off, slap a lidco. It and out the door I go. Did I say I LOVE this blender? I do. LOVE IT!!!!!
submitted bySleepingfairy - 8 days agoA: It is NOT easy to clean if you need to add more ingredients after you've started blending. It makes a giant mess!! I would not recommend this.

Q: What is the decibel rating on this blender? Or what would it compare to? A quiet dishwasher under 44 dB or louder? I had a Ninja before and it was extremely loud and I don't want that again.
A: I haven't bought this yet, but my previous Nutri Bullet was much louder than my quiet dishwasher. I doubt many blenders are quiet: they have to spin very quickly to cut through the food instead of simply pushing it around (missing/stirring), so the motor is naturally noisy. On top of that, there's the sound of the blades hitting the food and the food hitting the cup. Any blenders with technology to have a quieter motor will certainly cost much more than this one.
submitted bykrekel13 - 12 days agoA: It is loud but fast. 2 minutes and my 32 Oz smoothie is done. Loud like a regular blender, older style blender.
submitted bySleepingfairy - 8 days agoA: The Ninja blender is noisy as an average blender.

Q: When I use the smoothie setting, it starts with a flourish, but then stops and then starts again, but doesn't seem to be able to blend after the first burse of energy. Is this how it works?
A: We have had this happen with a previous model (which we are about to replace as it "died of old age"). We never measured, so for us it just meant we didn't add enough liquid and/or some of the fruit pieces were frozen together at such an angle that they simply got caught. When this happened, we simply added more juice and gave it a bit of a stir, then blended it again. Easy fix.
