Description
Sure, it’s easy to see when your hedges are getting a little shaggy, but how about your trees? The Worx 20V 2-in-1 Attachment-Capable Hedge Trimmer will clean up every bush, shrub, tree, and hedge on your property. Dual-action blades cut everything twice, once forward, and once back, working at 1340 revs/min. And all that action gives you neat, clean cuts. The extendable pole attachment is the greatest feature, though. You can leave the ladder in the garage and still add about 12 feet to your reach. It’s the much safer way to trim your trees. And once it’s up there, the pole handle has an on/off switch right on the grip, so you can turn it on and shut it off without having to bring it back down. This tool is cordless, so you don’t have to worry about getting snagged on every branch and obstacle in your yard. The WG252.9 comes with a blade sheath, which makes it safer to store and significantly extends the life of your tool. And if you decide later on that your trees need some branches to come down, too, you can always get the Worx Chainsaw Head Attachment that is designed for this pole.

It is fairly heavy and unwieldy. The motor and blade struggle with larger branches. The solution to that is a more powerful motor, which would add to the weight, compounding the first problem. As I said, great idea, but out in the yard, mehhh..

This product would be better for a homeowner if the extension pole was removable to turn it into just a cordless hedgetrimmer. Not everyone needs a constant long reach trimmer.

Not safely compatible with chain saw

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The hedge trimmer works just fine. But under the FAQ it says it's compatible with the WA0307 chain saw head. It does not safely work with the chain saw attachment. The chain saw would require a mid extension pole handle, pictured under the pole saw tool, to safely work with the trimmer extension, the trimmer tool does not come with the handle it only comes with chain saw tool and the extensions are not compatible for safety's sake. Worx has informed me that the extensions are different. So if you want a chain saw and a trimmer you must order the complete tools separately. I ordered the trimmer tool and the chain saw only to find that I'm stuck with a unsafe chain saw, it's too heavy and cumbersome to work with the trimmer tool without the handle. The trimmer does what I wanted it for and the saw attachment was a great selling point, but don't use it with the chain saw head. It's unsafe. I recommend the trimmer tool, but WORX's FAQ that it's compatible with the saw head, don't be fooled.
I love the long reach portion.

The long reach pole function is the reason I bought this trimmer, plus I have other worx tools that require the same battery. It does a good job loping off the top of the shrubs, but it does get heavy suspending it up overhead. Also, the pole feature makes it difficult to use as a face/surface trimmer on the lower portion of the shrub. This is where a short battery trigger mechanism would come in hand to use it more like a convention trimmer. Currently I find it easier and more effective to drag out my other handheld trimmer. My point is though that I shouldn't need to own multiple hedge trimmers to service my property. (This is the reason for a 3 star rating.) The best part is not dragging out the ladder or risking a fall from the ladder:

Awkward, clumsy and slow

Extremely happy it was back in stock. Had GINORMOUS hedges to trim. When extended you have to be 1980s Hulk Hogan to use. The blades don't move very fast, it's actually slow, it weird. I have nothing good to say about this tool and it was too late to return. I have lots of worxs tools. Weed trimmer, blower, regular hedge trimmer and vacuum. All great. I guess that's the one good thing about this awful trimmer is the battery share between all tools.

Love this trimmer because I don't have to get on a ladder, don't need an extension cord, its easy to use, plus saves me time! I'm an older female, with this i can get things done without asking my husband to do it. Also have several WORX products that I absolutely LOVE!

I like the ability to adjust the angle of the head, but after about 30 minutes my arms are worn out. Perhaps if there was a shoulder strap that could be attached to take the weight off of the arms and wrist? Also, pole stcks occasionaly when extending and retracting.

Now she has the extension and do this from the ground. The angle adjustment makes this easy for her to "shape" the bushes to her wishes. I have purchased several tools from Worx - but this is the best one to date. If you are looking for a trimmer with power, easy to handle and operate - this is it. You won't be disappointed.
