[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased this knife years ago. With regular honing and occasionally sharpening. It still cuts like it did on day one. Excellent

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a new culinary school student, I had never had an experience to shop and compare multiple knives and styles at once. I kept returning to this knife for its feel, and it’s light weight, but feels solid and sturdy. Felt like something I could use easily for hours a day and never tire. Every knife is personal, but this one really stood out for me.

The Four Star is a classic, and I love the 7" blade. Priced right, lighter and easier to handle. One piece construction, is durable and has a fully forged bolster which protects your fingers, adding heft as well as balance. The special formula steel is 57 on the Rockwell, which helps to keep the knife nice and sharp. The 15 degree angle is similar to the angle sharper Japanese knives have, and also contribute to the excellent performance. Love the molded handle free from rivets, extremely comfortable and dishwasher safe. Lots of good reasons to select this knife!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had a few knives that I just took from my family or got free from random other purchases (e.g. cutting boards before). This one is compeltely different. cuts like BUTTER. I've been using a family member's 8-inch chef knife they havent sharpened for a while, and when i moved to a new apartment i picked up this 7-inch. Super sharp right out of the box and has destroyed (in the best way) everything ive chopped. Cant wait to keep using it, and see it keeps its edge!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Knife was an upgrade from my old one. The blade was noticeably thicker compared to my cheaper knives. Came very sharp and easy to maintain. Was so satisfied that we're beginning to build a set of zwilling knives.

If the 8-inch is too big and the 6-inch is too small, then this knife will be 'juuuussstt' right. It's a ideal size if you've been trying to decide what length to get. It is like a 7-inch santoku and has all the usability of that knife (and it does almost everything in the kitchen), plus it has the shape and the arc of a Western style knife that goes so well with chopping with a rocking motion. (Another knife to consider is a the Four Star 7-inch rocking santoku.) Whichever way you go, get off the fence and get cooking. You will be thrilled with the quality of the Four Star. There’s a reason the Four Star line has been a part of Zwilling’s lineup forever. It was designed with professionals in mind, so the focus was on safety, comfort and durability. The ‘grippy’ polypropylene handle is proportionate to the blade and the work - therefore no excess weight. The blade steel and method of construction is proprietary and at the forefront of technology. The blade can both take a beating and hold an edge, ideal for daily use and hard work. Although dishwasher safe, all knives perform and look better if they are hand washed. I’ve had a Four Star in my collection for decades. And it stilllooks almost new.

Zwilling's centuries-proven steel in a mid-weight, balanced chefs knife. Slight bit of flex and poly-tough handle that sits great in palm.

The Four Star line of cutlery offers the same high quality high carbon steel that our other Forged knives offer, but with slightly less weight due to the handle design. The moulded shape fits comfortably in your hand and a moulded handle is often preferred in professional kitchens as there is less opportunity for abrasion and fatigue.

I bought this as a birthday for my daughter. I have owned one for several years. She lives it as much as I do! She told me yesterday it's the only knife she'll use. I wanted to buy her the set but they were out of stock. The handle is what throws it over the top. I cook a great deal and as a senior citizen the comfort of the handle makes a difference. Excellent quality and comfort!

My mom wanted something smaller than an 8 inch chef knife, but she complained the 6 inch was too small. She has adored the 7 inch! She claims the 7 inch is better for a petite, smaller handed lady. I am not sure if this is true! But she, personally, adores it!

I can see why these Four Star knives sell so well! German steel and made with the Friodur process - sharp & hard blades and will not rust, corrode or chip. This knife feels better than the 8" Chef, as my hands are smaller and it fits in my hand better. Comfort handle and grip on end for my fingers. Slices beautifully!

This is a great knife! It’s a good size and versatile, the lightweight handle does make the knife blade heavy. Perfect for someone that needs a workhorse with good edge retention.

This 7" Chef is perfect for those who don't want or aren't comfortable with an 8" or 10" chef. Still able to tackle all the cutting jobs it's longer cousins do but doesn't feel intimidating in the hand. Four Star has a really nice feeling handle. Is easy to grip even when wet and works with smaller hands. Premium German Steel, made in Germany, ice hardened to hold an edge longer these knives are ready to take on the toughest challenges in the kitchen.

A Four Star knife is so comfortable despite of its size. An 8" chef is perfect, neither too small nor too large, it is a comfortable in my hand. A balanced will quickly become the go-to knife for everyday tasks. This knife is perfect for cutting meat, fruits and even vegetables. A delicate big piece of fruits like Cantaloupe or watermelon will be manageable for this knife. It's the most easiest to sharpen for its special formula high carbon stainless steel, easy to sharpened either stone or machine.

This knife lives up to its reputation! Tried and true for over 40 years, this is a super sharp, durable German Steel blade. It's got the heft you need for big jobs like cutting chicken into pieces as well as larger fruits and vegetables. I like using this size to cut down squash and watermelon. The handle is smooth and comfortable.
