CONSUMERS BEWARE OF WITHDRAWAL SIDE EFFECTS

1 out of 5 stars
NDYAZ - 1 month ago
originally posted on zyrtec.com
CONSUMERS BEWARE OF SERIOUS SIDE EFFECTS IF STOPPING ZYRTEC. I am currently suffering debilitating itching, hives and welts after recently stopping Zyrtec on October 20, 2024. I had been instructed to stop taking Zyrtec in anticipation of allergy testing. After 2 days I thought I was stung by a bee only to discover terrible itching on my legs which has worsened to many other parts of my body. I am currently on day six of stopping Zyrtec and this horrible situation is continuing. I suggest consumers go to www.peoplespharmacy.com and put Zyrtec into the search bar. You will also find a reference to an NIH study which apparently resulted in the FDA adding a label to PERSCRIPTION Zyrtec that includes a warning about this possible side effect when stopping Zyrtec. BUT MILLIONS use OTC (Over the Counter) Zyrtec and there is NO WARNING ON THE OTC. Shame on you KENVUE (NYSE: KVUE) which was spun off from Johnson & Johnson in 2023 for ignoring these complaints which they undoubtedly are aware of and not providing a warning on the OTC label. Zyrtec is a BILLION dollar global business for Kenvue. I intend to file a claim with the FDA’s MedWatch Reporting system you can find at www.FDA.gov and pursue all avenues to help other consumers avoid the suffering so many of us are going through or have gone through.

My daughter had started complaining that she was itchy turned out that she had massive hives all over her body after consulting with her pediatrician. They told us to take children’s Zyrtec, which we did and literally in less than an hour they were cleared up. Thank you Zyrtec.

Recently needed to begin using an allergy med occasionally per my dermatologist. I wasn't sure which brand but after reading a few online comparisons I chose Zyrtec. The small size is convenient to take each morning I found a great deal at my local CVS using a 40% off coupon. Seems to work quickly without at side effects. I have since purchased the travel packs and added them to my luggage set.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had allergies for years and have tried many different products. Several months ago I began using Zyrtec and after using it for these few months, I have noticed a marked improvement! My eyes don't water and my throat is less scratchy! I'm so grateful! It has brought me relief and I am able to enjoy my days with my family once again! I'd almost forgotten what it was like to enjoy a day when the pollen count was higher than normal!

I woke up the other day sneezing and nose running away, I went to work because I thought would clear. I never had allergies ever. I called my wife and she bought the ZRYTEC. I took one gel cap I guess they call them after work. In less then an hour I was done with the nose thing and sneezing. Only problem I had was the tiredness the next day but was worth it! Thanks

Sinus pressure holy grail

5 out of 5 stars
Thumbs up graphic, would recommend
Grace - 8 months ago, Verified purchaser
I’ve been dealing with sinus pressure for about two years it feel like. I’ve had two sinus infections within that time and went on antibiotics, but the pressure eventually came back. I’ve been blowing my nose for a few months, too. I’ve tried Nasacourt, Claritin, Pseudoephedrine, however, I’ve been taking this Zyrtec allergy medicine for about 2 in half weeks now, and it’s helped me SO much. I felt like I had chronic pressure and would take ibuprofen or Tylenol to help the pain, but being consistent with this, has reduced my pressure amazingly. I don’t have to hold my forehead or be bedridden with throbbing pain. I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to find any solution, but this has been a holy grail for me so far. Thank you Zyrtec!! It didn’t work immediately after the first tablet, but with consistency and time, I feel like myself again :).

Zyrtec did not work for me. Gave minor allergy relief for maybe 5-6 hours, a lot less than the 24 they tout. I started taking it twice a day and it was ineffective as well. I only started having seasonal allergies last year and am trying to find the right meds to help but this was a waste of money. On to Claritin
