Anti-frizz sprays are sold in travel and full-size bottles, typically from about 1.5 fl oz (≈45 mL) up to roughly 6–10 fl oz (≈180–300 mL). Common examples listed include 1.5 oz, 6 fl oz, 8 fl oz and 10 fl oz.

Application depends on the formula: many sprays are applied to wet or damp hair before detangling or heat styling, while others can be misted onto dry hair to refresh curls or add shine. Typical directions are to spray from several inches away, then comb through or scrunch as needed. Most are leave-in and do not require rinsing.

Common smoothing and moisturizing ingredients include butters like shea and coconut, plant oils such as argan, grapeseed, avocado and castor, and curl-supporting extracts or proteins like flaxseed, quinoa, chia seed, amaranth and rice protein.
