A color-depositing gloss is a deposit-only color treatment that refreshes or tones hair while boosting shine and reducing brassiness. It’s typically described as a tone-correcting, shine-enhancing finish rather than a permanent color change.

Results are usually semi-permanent—commonly about 3–4 weeks. Some formulas claim durability up to roughly 30 shampoos; actual longevity varies by product, hair type, and washing frequency.

These treatments commonly come in gel, liquid, and cream formats.

They commonly boost shine and softness and provide conditioning or deep-conditioning benefits. Some formulas also include strengthening or hydrating ingredients such as keratin and plant oils.

Application varies but often follows an in-shower or mix-and-apply routine: wet the hair, apply or mix the product as directed, leave on for the manufacturer’s recommended time (commonly 3–20 minutes), then rinse thoroughly.
