Description

I always recommend that my clients come to get glossed and toned between salon visits to extend the life of their color. I’m finally able to give them, and you, something that is easy to use at home. This in-shower treatment is formulated to instantly boost vibrancy and shine, while neutralizing warmth on color treated or naturally ultra light blonde hair. It will help you keep your color looking fresh, shiny and healthy between appointments.

Choose this color if you have ultra light blonde hair and want to neutralize or tone down warmth.

How to:
(read all instructions thoroughly before glossing your hair)
1. wet hair thoroughly in the shower.
2. mix bottles 1 and 2 together, shake gently and apply all over.
3. wait 10-20 minutes, depending on the result you want, then rinse thoroughly.
4. shampoo and condition as usual.

VIBRANCY BOOSTING TECHNOLOGY:
Creates a protective shield over the hair to instantly boost shine and help lock-in your color.

ANTI-OXIDANT COMPLEX:
Smooths and softens hair from root to tip making hair more manageable.

ALKALINE NEUTRALIZING SYSTEM:
Protects from color fading by preventing hard water minerals from being deposited onto the hair and scalp.

anyone with ultra light blonde hair looking to tone down warmth and enhance shine.

WHAT IS IT?
in-shower treatment that nourishes strands and restores vibrancy.

Q: Does Kristin Ess Signature Hair Gloss have a strong smell? I'm sensitive to fragrance.

submitted by Rivergirl - 4 years ago
  • A: No, it was not bad at all. I used it and then went to bed and I did not wake up all night to a WEIRD smell as I would when I used hair dye. there is, of course a smell while you are using it, while it is on your head, but it is not "fumey" and not horrible. You are instructed to wash your hair after rinsing the product out, so that may be why the lingering smell was not strong or bad.

submitted byCanyon Gal - 4 years ago
  • A: Thanks for your question! The Signature Hair Glosses do not have any added fragrance and will not have a lingering smell once rinsed out.

Q: I'm a natural re head and want to tone down the warmth. Would Winter Wheat be appropriate/safe to try?

submitted by Mum23 - 2 years ago
  • A: Hello! We would strongly advise to stay within your color family when using our toning glosses. The Winter Wheat is recommended for light blonde hair and will likely not have any affect on your red hair. We would suggest our Purple Shampoo and Conditioner to help tone the brassiness. Hope this helps!

Q: I've been using the celestial skies conditioner & I'd like to switch to pink/purple. Im interested in the wild berry gloss. I'm worried that it might look terrible because Celestial Skies fades in my hair to a greenish brown. Any recommendations/advice?

submitted by Ellie H - 2 years ago
  • A: Hello! We highly recommend allowing the Celestial Skies shade to fade completely before applying our toning gloss. The Wild Berry is formulated for brown hair and for the best results, it is highly advised to ensure the base is brown prior to using this specific toning gloss. Hope this helps!

Q: How long dose this dye work until it washes out?

submitted by How long dose it last - 4 years ago
  • A: Thanks for your question! The Signature Hair Gloss lasts between 3-4 weeks depending on how often you wash your hair. This will help extend the life of your color in between your hair appointments.

submitted byKristin Ess Hair - 4 years ago
    Brand expert
  • A: According to their online site, 3-4 weeks depending on how frequently you wash your hair. I'm just using for the first time.

submitted byRobyn France - 4 years ago

Q: I touched up my roots--but now they are orangish. Will Winter Wheat gloss act more like a toner to eliminate that? I know it won't cover gray or add highlights--I would just like to get rid of the orange tones at my roots.

submitted by JanReviews - 4 years ago
  • A: Mixing a bit of purple dye (like Manic Panic brand "Ultra Violet") into your conditioner and using this on your orange roots after shampooing may help. I've used this mixture for 2 years to tone down my blonde hair if it gets brassy. Be conservative with the amount of dye you use. The color of your dye/conditioner mixture should be between a light and medium purple - not dark purple.

submitted byVickie - 4 years ago
  • A: I did the same thing! Just reviewed this. It helps a little with that! Try it.. it definitely muted the orange/warmth a bit.

Q: Does this cover gray hair?

submitted by KR - 4 years ago
  • A: No it does not cover grey.

submitted bySp - 4 years ago
  • A: Thanks for the question! Our Signature Gloss does not cover grays. Hope this helps!

Q: also — if you don’t use the entire bottle, can you keep what’s left for another use? or do you need to throw it out?

submitted by nikki - 5 years ago
  • A: You can get two or more uses out of one bottle. I always split it, since one bottle is a lot for my hair and I don’t want the product to go to waste. Don’t save if already mixed! I use a mixing bowl, put half bottle of the gloss and half of the ‘developer’, then apply on wet hair with a coloring brush. Just like you would with any box dye. Phenomenal results every time, such a great product. Love it, can’t live without it!

submitted byJK - 4 years ago
  • A: You've got an hour from the time you mix to the time you ought to throw it out because the active ingredients are no longer ...well... active. So, in short, just use up the bottle on your hair because you can't save it for another application a few weeks later.

Q: Are all of Kristin Ess products vegan or animal cruelty free?

submitted by Annabee1335 - 5 years ago
  • A: Yes, her line is cruelty free! As far as vegan idk. If you follow her on Instagram she will most likely answer. She has responded to all of my questions so far.

submitted byKatie - 5 years ago
  • A: All of the products are animal cruelty free!

Q: Instruction state "wait 10-20 minutes, depending on the result you want", does this mean the color is darker the longer you leave it on? What is the difference in the results when it's left 10 vs. 20

submitted by jsvc625 - 1 month ago
  • A: Thank you for your question! The ideal processing time is 20 minutes. Some people like to leave it on for a little more or a little less time depending on the results they’re looking for. To get a more subtle result, let it process for less time and if you want a more intense result, let it process for longer, up to 20 minutes. Hope this helps!

Q: Used Choc cosmo and turned my hair black, how do I get it out???

submitted by spsp12sp - 3 months ago
  • A: Hello! Our toning glosses generally last up to 3-4 weeks. It all depends on how often you shampoo. To speed up removal, you can always incorporate a clarifying shampoo into your washing regime. Hope this helps!

Works really well! and i feel like this makes my hair feel much softer and smoother overall. One thing i will say is that i do wear cheap jewelery and my neck was ever so slightly green and the dye dyed a circle around my neck so just beware of that. Also it dyes my forehead if i don’t clean off the dye quick enough

Waste of $15 my hair color is a cool light blonde and I thought I would try this between colorings to tone and shine. My hair looks even more dull after using this, no gloss or shine to be seen....and it actually made my hair look more golden and yellow adding warm tones instead of cool tones which makes no sense. If I could give no stars I would. Do not bother with this product, I get better results with purple shampoos.

Just what my old color needed. This is a great refresh option that is super cost effective. I do wish they had a bit more information in regards to the percentage of hydrogen peroxide in the activator. But I took the chance anyway and was very pleased with the result.

This is the worst product I have ever used. It is so thin like water that even wearing gloves it got all over my bathroom. Stained my counters bright orange. The worst part is it kept bleeding out dye with every wash. The shower was full of dye. It leaves hair so dry and brittle and smells horrible. I should of invested more and got Madison Reed instead

I loved how simple this was. I had my hair bleached in some areas, and unfortunately it was extremely damaged, broken and dull. I waited 7 months. I did masks and treatments until my hair was at an acceptable health level. I needed something to de-brass some parts, blend in the grown out blonde pieces, and a bit of grey coverage. This was the holy grail. My hair is soft, well blended and finally looks good after 7 months of repairing.

Love love love this gloss! Took me from a dark blonde to a medium brown which definitely looked darker on me since I’m quite pale. Lightened slightly to a chocolatey brunette. It was super easy to use, just make sure you’re using a towel that you don’t mind getting stained. Didn’t pose a huge issue when I went in to have my hair lightened & dyed at a salon later on when I felt like returning to blonde. Will definitely be using again. FYI - photo with hair half-back is my starting color. The other two are post-dye.

I’ve used this product AT LEAST 5 times, maybe more. It’s an amazing product. The only reason I knocked off a star is because it has a very strong chemical smell that sticks to your hair for a couple of days… But there’s enough pros to outweigh that one con. It makes my hair shinier, softer, and darker which saves me a lot of money, since i don’t have to dye it at the salon anymore (I like the Bittersweet color) If they could fix the chemical smell it’d instantly be 5 stars for me
