No-strip hard wax hardens on the skin and is removed directly (no cloth strips), adhering mainly to the hair for cleaner pulls. Soft (strip) wax stays tacky and requires cloth or paper strips to be pressed on and pulled off, removing hair from the root.

Common skin-conditioning additives include Marula oil, pineapple extract, chia seed extract, vitamin E, chamomile oil, and various essential oils or fragrance components.

Some ready-to-use strips and several sugar- or hypoallergenic wax kits are marketed for sensitive skin. Look for labels such as “Recommended Skin Type: Sensitive,” “Hypoallergenic,” “No Fragrance Added,” “Unscented,” or “Dermatologically tested.”

Advertised durations vary by product and format. Many strip-based kits note about 28 days (around 4 weeks); several products state results up to 4 weeks, while a few sugar or hard-wax kits advertise results up to 8 weeks.

Claims vary by format: some strip systems say they grip hairs as short as 1.5 mm, while some sugar-wax kits note they remove hair of at least 5 mm.

Products target a range of skin types. Many list Normal or All Skin Types; several specify Sensitive (sometimes alongside Oily, Dry, or Combination), and some formulas are labeled specifically for sensitive or combination skin.
