What a stunner.

This only works for certain hair shades and for mine, it was great! The shade 117 Aquamarine is an absolute stunner. It is a highly pigmented, bright blue-green hybrid that gives off major tropical ocean vibes. Because the formula is so nourishing, your hair will genuinely feel silkier and infinitely shinier after you rinse it out. It is the perfect shade for achieving that vivid, vivid pop of color. However, we have to keep it totally candid about the reality of pastel and bright direct dyes: this product is deposit-only. It cannot lighten your hair. To get that vivid, true-to-bottle Aquamarine, your hair must be pre-lightened to a very pale, Level 9 or 10 blonde canvas. If you apply this over dark brown hair, it will essentially do nothing. Furthermore, because it is a direct dye with a runny texture, it will absolutely stain your hands and your bathroom surfaces—wear gloves and outline your hairline with Vaseline! Lastly, as an aquamarine, the fading process can be tricky; depending on how much yellow was left in your underlying bleach job, this shade can pull slightly neon green or teal as it washes out over the course of a few weeks.
