Aveda Scalp Solutions Balancing Shampoo, Gentle Scalp-Balancing Shampoo to Remove Excess Oil & Buildup, 6.7 oz

I have always had greasy hair and have been using Aveda's Rosemary Mint shampoo for years and loved it. Since becoming perimenopausal, my hair has changed a lot and is even more greasy now. I'll wash my hair in the morning and by the same evening it's is greasy. So thought, I'd change up my shampoo to see I'd this works. I have been using thus shampoo for about a month now and have noticed no change, in fact I think it may be worse. This shampoo is incredibly hard to wash out and in some cases, I have has to go back and rewash my hair after drying it, as I can feel this really horrible residue in my hair. I am unable to use any other products in my hair with this shampoo as it just makes it more greasy. I wouldn't bother with this shampoo and honestly I would like refund as its not cheap.

This shampoo is perfect for my dry, sensitive scalp, leaving my long, thick, wavy, greying therefore colour treated hair, hydrated and fresh. Since using I've had less need to wash my long hair so regularly (every 4 to 5 days), paired with the scalp remedy conditioner which is super hydrating!

Some reviews will tell you that it makes your hair sticky and feel dirty. I did have this to start but it lessened with used and gave the added benefit of volume (I have thin hair). After a few washes using it now, it does not feel dirty but I feel the product a bit and for me that's fine as it adds volume. My scalp is clear and does not itch.

I have been using aveda for years now and tried almost each one of them but I have favourites and scalp benefits was one of them. I have recently bought new one which is scalp solutions and I think I won't be able to continue with it as it leaves my hair really greasy and sticky. I hope you bring back the old version because this one just damages your brand.

Sadly, I didn't understand that this shampoo wasn't a direct replacement for the discontinued Scalp Benefits. It foams a lot and smells quite "chemically" and dried my scalp out triggering a psoriasis flare after a year of being clear as soon as I used it. It's very harsh compared with Scalp Benefits which was amazing. It would be good for oily hair but not if you have any sensitivity or other real skin issues. Utterly Bereft. I'm going to try Shampure instead but I did try it many years ago and it wasn't a patch on Scalp Benefits. Aveda Please reconsider bringing it back!

I bought this shampoo when I was at my last resort and thought it might be a godsend! I have been having scalp problems for almost a year and every prescription shampoo was awful! My hairdresser used this and it was great, so I bought the set. Never again! I have waited till the end of the bottle to write this with the vain hope I was just adjusting, no such luck. This leaves my hair greasy and sticky no matter how hard I wash it out or blow dry, I have had to dry my hair immediately after getting out of the shower which has only made my skin irritation worse, and it doesn't even help the grease. So what I thought would save the day had only given me more pain, I wanted so badly to like it and now have no more options. Such a disappointment.

I got a sample size and had to order the full size straight away after 1 use. I suffer from scaby flakey itchy scalp when the weather starts getting cold (probably Psoriasis). As soon as it started I washed with this shampoo and saw the difference straight away. It soothed and help get rid of the itchiness flakes and scabs straight away without drying out my hair like other shampoos that are aimed at the scalp. It allowed me to continue to stretch out of my wash day to a week as usual. I love this and can't rave enough about it. Its a staple for me. I recommend that you try this out for yourself like I did. I haven't looked back

I had used the original Scalp Benefits shampoo for over 18 years and was very happy with it. I was disappointed when I found it had been discontinued but thought I'd try the Scalp Solutions instead. For me this has been a disaster. My hair doesn't feel or look as healthy as it did, something has caused my eyes to sting each time I used it and the shampoo doesn't lather. Having used it three times I cannot recommend it in any way.

I used Aveda Scalp Benefits products for years. They were excellent. Please bring them back. Scalp Solutions actually makes my scalp itchy!!! It is also very difficult to get a lather. I do not recommend it and will not buy it again.

I have used the Scalp benefits shampoo for years and absolutely loved it. It made my hair feel clean and my scalp really did benefit from using it. I told so many people about it. I was surprised to see that it had been changed to Scalp solutions but thought I would give it a try. I hate it, it makes my hair feel greasy and I need to use so much more of it. It doesn't feel clean at all and my scalp really isn't benefiting at all. I won't be buying it again. Please please please bring back the old one. Why would you change something that was so good?

I'm so disappointed, I thought my fine hair would benefit from these products and it's awful. It doesn't wash out and leaves hair feeling very greasy, dull and lank looking. I am so surprised it's even being sold after seeing quite a few similar reviews now I've looked, I just wish I checked before purchasing not after!

scalp solutions shampoo leaves my with something like an oily film on my hair! It leaves it heavy and looks unwashed even though i just washed my hair! If you have oily and fine hair this is terrible! I do love Aveda products and I used to use scalp benefits shampoo before which was the best shampoo I ever had in my life. Very dissapointing and definitly not a replacement for the scalp benefits shampoo. Please bring it back again!

I have lots of fine hair and sensitive scalp and for years used 'Scalp benefits' which worked well for me but it tended to dry my hair so I balanced it with the quite moisturising 'Shampure' conditioner. I recently tried 'Scalp solutions' and I'm very pleased. My hair looks healthier and stays looking that way on day 2 which is brilliant because I try to wash my hair every other day.

The worst shampoo ever. I don't recommend this shampoo to anyone. The previous SCALP BENEFITS BALANCING SHAMPOO was the best shampoo that I have used for years, but unfortunately discontinued for some reason. Bring back the original SCALP BENEFITS BALANCING SHAMPOO.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used the previous formula and, yes, it was lovely. However, I have been deterred from buying the new version because of the negative responses. All I can say is make your own mind up. I asked for a sample recently after my hair cut at Aveda as I did not want to purchase a large bottle but this shampoo is lovely! It lathered really well and cleaned thoroughly. My hair is so short that I don't need a conditioner. I do suffer with an itchy sensitive scalp so I am hoping it will help but so far so good. I WILL purchase a full size bottle.

I bought this because it seems Scalp Benefits had been discontinued. I had been using it for several years and it was THE best shampoo & conditioner for my hair and scalp. A luxurious product. I then try this thinking it must be a new and improved formula to find it leaves my hair lank and lifeless. My hair had no volume after washing and looked and felt awful. Please bring back scalp benefits and read the forums where other customers are now buying other brands.

My scalp has actually got worse since using this product. I wouldn't recommend it and there are some other products out there that would help if you have scalp problems.

I have used the old scalp solutions since it came out but always found it drying on my hair. This new formula is luscious in comparison! My scalp and hair feel hydrated and it has a new minty smell which just makes the experience bliss. Very very happy! Well done Aveda!

I've used the scalp benefits shampoo and conditioner for years and have found it a very good product. I thought I would try the new scalp solutions balancing shampoo and conditioner and it was dreadful. My hair felt matted together after shampooing and the conditioner did not smooth it at all. I had to reshampoo and condition with scalp benefits before my hair felt normal. Will not be using it again. Expensive mistake.

I was a scalp benefits user and was hoping this would be an effective replacement. It is. And I think it's better too. One thing to note: if you live in a soft water area (or have a water softener) then you probably don't to use the conditioner at all.
