The controller is a major problem.
The controller is a problem. After 1 year and changing it twice, it still does not work properly. We have to press the light button 3-5 to turn the light on or off. Each controller has had this issue. A controller should not be mounted in an electrical box when it needs to be accessed to change batteries. Only qualified electricians should be accessing outlet boxes. Repeated access will damage the switch box leading to a costly repair, and switch boxes shouldn't have to be accessed to change batteries. I will never buy another Hunter fan. I wish I didn't wait so long to install it so I could've returned it.

How to Recycle
My first Hunter fan lasted 30 years. Replaced it with the Overton. Love it. My neighbor helped me with the installation, he is now the proud owner of the older model.

Beaten up box not sure if the fan will last
Unfortunately our fan box had the crap beaten out of it. The fan blade had some pencil writing on them, is this normal we wondered. We renteted a scaffold to put it up. It works but occasionally makes a weird clunking noise on start up. Its intermittent so we are gonna video it and send it in.

Bad controller
The controller is garbage. This will be my last Hunter fan. The controller has to be mounted inside the switch box which is not ideal because you have to pull out the switch to replace the batteries. The light is hard to turn on/off, and the rotation direction will not stay set. The controller fail ruined a beautiful fan.

Hello, this fan does come with a remote wall switch that does require batteries for wireless functions such as speed control, individual on/off functions for the fan and light, dimming, and reversing if applicable. However, you can always wire the fan to a single on/off toggle switch and then add a handheld remote to operate the fan and light if you prefer. You would need just to pair the handheld remote to the receiver that comes with the fan. Here is the link for a compatible handheld remote. The fans are simple to install. They work quietly, provide a great breeze, and lights work great for our patio. Tech support is extremely helpful—we called several times with questions before purchasing and after install. With support, we were able to connect two fans to one switch.

Amazing fan
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Not going to lie, when you open the box to this, it can be a little intimidating. As someone who likes to DIY, I put on my big girl pants and opened the manual. It does take 2 people to accomplish this mission. I was replacing an existing fan on my patio, so all of the electrical was in place. It’s big and it’s awkward, but the instructions are well written and with some time and patients…. Maybe a cuss word or two, it can be done. The fan performance is amazing. I had a smaller outdoor fan on the patio and this one blows it away….Literally! Would definitely recommend. Here in Texas we appreciate a good fan 75% of the yr.

Not only is it super powerful it can be controlled so your able to choose how high or low you need it. quickly turn off with a press of a button on the wall control. Outstanding Ceiling Fan for Large Rooms
I had two of these installed in a large living room about a month ago, and I LOVE THEM! They are whisper quiet, look gorgeous, and move so much air that we rarely turn either of them on above low. They have made a huge difference in the appearance of the whole room and are just exceptional at air movement. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a large fan.

Does not work with dual switches. The fan switch controls both the light and the fan even though they are wired separately. I called Hunter technical support and this is a known issue. The main reason for purchasing this fan was for the dual switch capability. Now back to the drawing board.

Hello, this fan comes with a wall control and is designed to be used with that control. This fan is not designed to be used for a dual switch. Nice air movement
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I actually got this to hang in a barn to move air for the animals. It works really well. Large enough to move the air, but small enough to fit between light fixtures. I’m a bit worried about the white color getting dirty over time, but that isn’t anything a good cleaning can’t take care of. Overall very happy. Easy install, good air movement and some supplemental light. Would recommend.

A breeze to bring the whole family togeather
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This 72 inch Overton Outdoor ceiling fan is a true workhorse. A fan that brings the whole family together. Stale air on a hot summer day is unbearable inside or out. The average ceiling fan does nothing to combat the discomfort. You'll have a nice breeze on the lowest setting. Extra blades less choppy air pushing your way. Going from mr wobbles to a smooth spin this guy is the biggest fan of the Overton ceiling fan.
