Carolina Thai Jasmine Rice is a long grain variety that cooks up fluffy and gives off a fragrant, slightly buttery aroma. Traditionally, Jasmine Rice is used in Southeast Asian cuisine such as Thai; but with its texture and flavor, it makes a great addition to a wide variety of other common dishes. The long grains also make this rice ideal for stir fries and fried rice dishes as the rice cooks evenly rather than clumping together. Also known as aromatic, fragrant or scented rice, Carolina’s Jasmine rice has a natural aroma released during cooking. These grains cook up to a white colored, soft textured and fluffy grain. This rice is a great compliment to Asian style dishes.

  • A: Hi there, Carolina Long Grain Jasmine Rice can be cooked on the stove, in a rice cooker, Instant Pot, or microwave. Here are the Stove Cooking Instructions: 1. In a saucepan, bring 1 ½ cups water to a boil. 2. Stir in 1 cup of rice. If desired, add 1 tablespoon olive oil and 1 teaspoon salt per cup of uncooked rice. Cover. Reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes or until all water is absorbed. 3. For drier rice, use ¼ cup less water. 4. For moister rice, used ¼ cup more water. Q: is this the same as Carolina gold rice?

  • A: Hi there, thank you for your question. Carolina Gold Rice is not the same as Carolina Long Grain Jasmine Rice. Carolina Gold rice is a different species and has a little gold hue and nuttier flavor. Whereas Carolina Thai Jasmine Rice cooks up fluffy and gives off a fragrant, slightly buttery aroma. Traditionally, Jasmine Rice is used in Southeast Asian cuisine such as Thai. Hope this helps!

Pleasantly Surprised

Not my usual brand, but my local grocer was out and as was placing a Target order thought I'd try this brand. Switching brands of rice is daring as one you're use to the taste & more importantly the cooking process, but this Carolina Jasmine rice was good. It's substantially pricier than my normal brand though, so will only use as my back-up when necessary.
