The term "Cold Pressed" is not regulated in the U.S. while "expeller pressed" is, so we decided to update our labels to better reflect the entire process we use to extract the oil.     Low Smoke Point

    This oil consistently starts to smoke at medium heat, much lower than the advertised 500. Leads me to believe this is not really avocado oil.

    metal shavings from the lid found in my oil

    The oil itself is great! It really does have a neutral flavor profile which can be used in any recipe, but I was so upset to find that the lid has been deteriorating and depositing small, fairy dust sized metal shavings into the oil. I always loved the glass bottle because it meant less plastic leaching into the oil, but there's literally no reason to not have a plastic lid on the bottle.

    I got this because it's supposed to be anti-inflammatory. I love that it pours through a plastic hole thingy so the bottle doesn't get oily. I bought the smallest bottle to try and I use it so much I got the next size up - both have that pour spout. Next time I may get the 3rd size. I also emailed Chosen with a question and they replied within 2 days.
