Went from having potential, to a fizzle
Had potential in the beginning, but like w/everything else now a days had to have an agenda and ruin the enjoyment of reading it.

Big disappointment
There is so much build up and each character is described in so much depth that the ending was so aggravating.

Great book
A thought provoking and eye-opening read that challenges our biases and stereotypes.

slow start
this book was really slow getting into I was 60 or 70 pages in before it got to the point so to speak. I was about to give it up and then it finally got interesting. Parts of it were so boring and I thought she went into too much boring details on things that don't matter. that being said I loved it after I gave it a chance. I only wished it had a more resolved ending. I wouldn't read it again like I have other books. But it was still worth the read and I had a hard time putting it down once it got interesting.

It was easy to sympathize with all of the characters. The ending was wildly anticlimactic and disappointing.

Great Read!
Read this for a class and it didn’t disappoint. The book draws you in and it’s hard to stop reading. I read the book before watching the Hulu show, and i prefer the book over the show.

I really enjoyed this book, it was a very easy quick read. I liked the book better than the tv series. This was our first book as a book club.

Watched the series on Hulu and I loved it! I had to pick up the book! There are some differences but still loved it regardless! Definitely a great read!

Good Book
I read this book prior to watching the new series on Hulu. After beginning to read the book, I definitely wanted to keep reading. However, I felt they could have addressed more of the bigger events at the end of the novel. There were many things that needed closure. However, I love the series so far, and I would highly suggest reading the book beforehand so you understand what you are watching.

Book Club Choice
I just started using this book for a book club and am so happy Target had it in stock. The first two chapters are excellent and definitely make you want to keep reading. I hope to read more of Celeste Ng's work after this!

I really enjoyed this book by Celeste Ng. While it started off kind of slow and confusing in parts, I very quickly wanted to continue reading, and found it hard to put the book down. I felt the characters were very well developed, the story line easy to follow (even though there were multiple!), and the intrigue very well done. I am certainly looking forward to discussing this book in book club!
