The reviews highlight significant concerns regarding the quality of this brown rice, particularly issues with bugs and cooking consistency. Many guests reported finding insects in the bags, which made the product unusable for their needs. While some guests appreciated the affordability and taste when cooked properly, the overwhelming feedback points to a lack of quality control, making it a risky choice for those seeking reliable brown rice for their meals.

Unripe grains bitter taste
I bought this rice to mill into flour. As I poured the bag into the large mill hopper I could see a whole lot of green or partially green grains - I know these to be unripe grains. After milling it into flour anyway, I took a taste afterwards and the taste was not pleasant. Milled brown rice flour usually has a sweetness to it but not this rice. It was almost bitter. I’m guessing it’s because the grains weren’t completely ripe before they were harvested. This was the first and the last time I will purchase this brand. I do not recommend it.

I've read other reviews
I like that it is a healthier option from white rice. For cooking this rice you want to wash it clean and let it soak in some water for about 30mins before cooking it and rinse clean again. 1 cup of the brown rice= 3.5 cups water Cook with a tablespoon of oil or butter of your choice , season to taste also if you’d like. Cook for 45 mins to 1hr for texture on low which is about (4) on the stove dial covered. I didn’t see any bugs in my package of rice or anything so again ensure the cleaning and washing is first step can’t treat this as white rice since it is grains and etc. Hope this helps someone! Enjoy!

Good enough
I'm a fan of the good & gather white rice so I gave this a try. Wish they also had a 10lb bag for the brown rice for a better bang for your buck.

Hungry anyone?
Could go on and on with each of the Good and Gather lineup of beans, legumes, grains etc., but I’m not. Suffice to say they are easy to like and glad they are being offered. 4.1 Stars.

So many husks/hulls/chaff
Flavor is fine, tastes like brown rice. But every single serving had husks in it. A better job needs to be done making sure the husks are removed from rice.

I wish I had read the comments before buying. We had what looked like bugs in our brown rice. There were also many hull pieces.
