Q: Why are these socks so bad? It is no longer 100% cotton and too tight, also very uncomfortable and wrong sizes. It's sad to see socks that used to be really good turn out in a steal.

Premium performance? Hardly. Thin sock that fits like a tight compression sock. The material is thin and insignificant. I'm a woman and they were way too tight on me. I'm not that big in the feet ankle or leg area either. You don't want to be wearing these with work boots all day men. Trust me on this. I'd rather have a couple pairs of socks and have them made well, with less stretch material and more cotton.
Shrinks way too much when washed.

I bought these for my 10 year old son and the leg is so tight he can barely get the socks on. By the end of the day there are red imprints on his legs and it is painful. Another tried and true brand down the drain!

These seem to have shrunk massively in the wash. Got them for a men size 10 and after washing seems too small to fit a men’s size 10 foot.

Hanes really produced a classy sock with this one; they've blended different styles together, to create a hybrid everyday sock, that's both comfortable to wear with sneakers, and can even be worn with dress shoes because the sock isn't extra bulky. However, I would recommend Hanes's Work Sock, if you're going really hard on the construction site, or lumber yard; their Work Sock is more suitable for those conditions.

My husband's job requires him to be on his feel 95% of his workday and in steel-toe boots. He likes the compression-like part of the sock and that they do a fair job of keeping his feet cool but it's the quality of the socks that has earned this product 3 stars. He is continually getting holes in the ankles and heel part. It's seems to consistently be the Hanes brand, too. I bought him another brand for a bit more per package (starts with the letter "D") and he hasn't had one hole. I wouldn't recommend these if you need a heavier-duty sock.

I thought I was purchasing the same ones my son previously had but they've changed them. My son has narrow feet and super skinny ankles and these are TIGHT. I thought he was being dramatic but no, I attempted to help him put one on and they are ridiculously tight. They wash up okay but after a couple washes you can see little threads on the bottom footbed. Super disappointing as we threw out all the old ones and replaced with 2 packages of these.

I have been using Hanes socks for years a wouldn't use any other, but I bought new socks about a year ago the thin and the thicker, well the thin ones had holes in the first month and both have a nylon type of material after hearing them for a day my feet feel like I've had them a plastic bag, I am now searching for a new brand.
