Great little knife!
Great knife - sharp out of the box. Solid, but lightweight. I have bigger hands but it still fits well. Would recommend !

Nimble and Quick!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This knife makes you feel like an artist - you think it, and it will do it. Beautiful AND tough, can make quick work of anything you send it's way. Fine trimming, paring, dicing, etc. The handle is a great feel in your hand and gives you the control you need regardless of your preferred grip. Also the blade, what a statement of incredible craftsmanship!

Comfortable handle, nice blade
I like the modified Japanese handle as it fits comfortably in my hand. (I prefer simpler Japanese handles to western ones.) I like the blade & it's comparable to a similarly priced, slightly larger petty knife I already have (home cook). The Damascene pattern looks nice, but isn't necessary. A more traditional pattern is just fine. Overall, I'm loving this handy, little heirloom knife.

Very Nice Knife
Worth every penny. Great look, great balance, great feel, and what an edge. Price may seem high, but like everything else, you get what you pay for and I'm not disappointed.

cool look great blade
I have been a fan of Bob Kramer cutlery for a while. This Kramer designed knife is truly unique. His take on the traditional D shaped handle really stands out in the kitchen and is very comfortable to hold. The Damascus style blade is very sharp. The FC61 steel holds and edge for a long time and is more resilient that a lot of Japanese blades. The blade length is perfect for shaping and peeling in hand.

Sunstantial in Your Hand.
Long, palm-shaped pakkawood handle and Japanese hardened, fine carbide stainless steel hand-honed blade make this one complete. Also steel wrapped 100 times to create a unique look. Never rusts...and tough handle.

Wonderful design
This knife feels like every detail was clearly thought thru and the craftsmanship can be seen in everything from the blade to the handle. I am right handed and this knife feels like it was made for my hand because the "D" shape sits in the palm of my hand perfectly. I like the 4" length because it isn't too big to maneuver, but not too short to get tasks done quickly.

Great paring knife for a full hand grip
If you hold your knives with your full hand - like a handshake - this is a terrific paring knife for you. It's maneuverability, even with a 4-inch blade, is pretty awesome. Even if you use a pinch grip, this blade moves easily and so effortlessly that you'll think it's an extension of your hand. Plus the Meiji line is as tough as it is beautiful. Made of 101 layers of steel, and ice hardened in the process, this tough knife will work hundreds of menus before it needs to be sharpened. The patterned blade signifies its Damascus-style layering. The bright stainless is eye catching. The handle is a little longer than traditional handles. Great for larger hands.

Parinig Love
Oh Meiji how I love you so! The 8" chef is my go to knife in the kitchen so only natural to add to it and so happy I did. This is one of the most comfortable paring knives I own. The core of the blade is made from FC61 carbide and its surrounded by 100 layers of additional steel which creates a beautiful Damascus pattern. The handle is an exaggerated D sharp that is comfortable and fits into any hand. It is perfect for detailed work or a quick chop.

A Bob Kramer Meji paring knife makes all those little cutting jobs a treat. From peeling apples and potatoes to cutting garlic and strawberries this knife is comfortable in your hand thanks to the curved handle and razor sharp thanks to the FC61 steel core that is hand honed.

With Bob Kramer's name on any knife, you can be assured you bought the best of the best! The 100 layers of nickel and steel designed into a gorgeous Damascus pattern, ensure sharpness, it stays sharp and extremely durable. The Pakkawood handle makes for a most comfortable grip and hold while paring, slicing, or coring your fruits and veggies. The finest of knives also has the most stunning look to it.

Meiji is an exceptional knife and what could be more perfect than this quality and design in a knife you will use every day. The parer is the essential knife for small tasks you perform in your hand like peeling an apple, removing spots from potatoes, or working with garlic. This incredible knife is made in Japan. It has scalpel-like blade sharpness that is a result of a thin blade with a very small edge angle. No need to worry about the blade being delicate like most Japanese knives. Meiji is made from a new type of steel, FC61, that is durable and very chip resistant. You can see the details of the hand crafted blades in the edge finish. The Pakkawood handle is a very durable wood composite that can hold up to lots of daily wear and tear. The unique handle design fits perfectly in the palm of your hand. The pin in the handle is made by Bob Kramer in his workshop and shipped to Japan. How cool is that!

Meiji knives are each a unique piece of art and this paring knife is no exception. Easy to control with the slightly longer handle and super sharp this knife peels pares and cores with ease.
