A: The vacuum sealer accepts different brands of bags but they must be textured vacuum sealer bags.

Q: Looks like any moisture gets collected in the tray that the bag opening should sit in/above. Does the tray come out? How easy/difficult is it to clean? Can any of the liquid (including stickiness or odor) get into the motor of the vacuum sealer?

A: Unfortunately the tray does not come out but there is a form lining that can be removed for easier cleaning. The liquid will be caught in the tray if any and will not get into the motor. The vacuum is not meant for liquids or and foods that are marinated.

Not even more than 5 times usage
Vacuum and sealer function button doesn't work like it should. "Oh it needs to be clean." "Oh, it needs to be completely sealed." "Oh, it needs to be done this and that." etc etc. For once, this needs to be taken off the market. It's just not functional and the "support" is quite sparse. I regret making a purchase when I went an extra mile to hunt for this specific model. Will -NOT- recommend for their support is in extreme poor structure.

Makes Sous Vide Cooking So Much Easier
Ive been an advocate of using ziplock style bags, but this vacuum sealer is fantastic. It works well and really pulls the plastic around the food. For best results you need to keep the bag completely flat. I use a cookbook or two to lift the food up to the sealer level and it helps immensely. I thought Id use the pre-made bags the most, but I really like the rolls to make your own custom size. This tool really helps when cooking irregular sized items like carrots. Highly recommended.

Great purchase
To anyone using ziplock bags, buy this! Your sous vide will be better, no leaks, less floating bags, less hassles better freezing. I have been using a different brand of vaccuum sealer and it was great dit did exactly what I needed, I saw this one and impule bought it and I am happy I did. There are a number of qualityof life improvments over my last one double sealing, the bag cutter, and a better ability to do wet food.

After owning two FoodSavers, I decided to give the Anova Precision Vacuum Sealer Pro a try. I loved the idea of a double seal. I also wanted the external pulse vacuum feature, as I have a few vacuum canisters that I like to use for marinating, and general refrigerator storage. I had initial difficulties getting a vacuum from the accessory port. When I finally tried removing the large roll of bags, everything worked as expected. So very happy I got this model!!

instructions are not very helpful
It would be nice if manufacturer showed the user how to setup the rolls and use the device. The instruction manual is basically a bunch of warnings and disclaimers.

Great except when the rolls of bag material have creases.
I am using it a lot. Have rolls of the bagging material and use it to make small cheese treat bags right up to lamb shanks for sous vide. Only issue is when the plastic have a wrinkle or crease. It's difficult to maintain a seal as the heat just isn't quite enough to always seal at those locations.
