Perfect for studying bugs
I have a 4 year old who is obsessed with bugs!! This was the best present ever. As soon as she opened it she was off in to the garden. We have lots of bug pots at home but the best thing about this is the size, instead of looking at bugs and letting them go this is the right size to keep bugs to observe for longer. First thing we caught was a snail, we brought it indoors, gave it some food, learnt all about them and she was always watching and talking to her new pet. We only kept it for a day as we know bugs need to be outside in nature but it was a real learning opportunity for her. I know we will have many temporary bug pets in the future. It seems well made and even has a food dispenser at the top. I also like that you can fill it with water to observe pond life.

Such a great size!!
This GeoSafari Critter Habitat is absolutely fantastic!.. My boys absolutely love going on 'bug hunts' and sometimes it's hard to find a suitable container to put them in, but this one fits the bill completely. It's a great size to accommodate all your critters, without being too bulky. It features a lift off lid, for easy access to put your critters inside, but also features a locking system, so when your carrying it, the lid does not come off. It has a lovely wide handle, which makes it easy for little ones to carry it around. There is a tube in the handle that can pull out so you can place food inside without having to take the whole lid off, and magnifying spots on the sides for ultra close up viewing!.. My boys have only had this for a few days, but already they have taken it to forest school 'bug hunting'.. the garden 'worm finding' and today we took it 'pond dipping' ( did I mention it's waterproof so can be filled with water! ) .. This critter habitat is very well made, and seems quite robust for all of our adventures. I would definitely recommend this to everyone and will definitely be purchasing another for my children to have one each!..

Very cool!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This habitat is great for any little nature lover! We collect caterpillars, crickets, and even frogs in it! My 3 kids, ages 4-10, all love it!

Too small - nothing short of animal cruelty
This is too small for any creature to be kept in. It's not animal friendly at all. Would not recommend.

Perfect for critter spotting
We love using this. The children are water animal obsessed so we love taking this down to our local pond and can spend ages looking for different critters. Hopefully we'll find a frog soon!!

Perfect for little adventures
This has to be our favourite item from Learning Resources. My 5 year old is obsessed with water and the bugs and small animals in it. We've taken it down to our local pond numerous times, and he spends ages finding so many different animals

My boys are obsessed with this habit!
Oh my goodness my boys are obsessed with this!! They were sharing and working together to use the magnifying glass sections. They have been checking out flowers in it, until they can "catch a lizard for the habitat". This is sturdy and attractive to kiddos and adults alike. I think we will be examining many many critters in the future...

Perfect for our family's summer explorations!
We have just begun using this product, but the design and aesthetic seem well thought out! My 2 and 4 year olds will need help catching critters, but I love how easy it is for them to lock/unlock the lid and to carry it around the yard. We've already been practicing looking through the magnifying lens. I hope we will take good care of it for many summers to come.

Perfect for critters!
We love this habitat! It is sturdy and large enough to put one or several critters in, in addition to plants, dirt, and whatnot. My 5 year old found a some sort of insect pupa outside. We put it in the habitat and about a week later, got to see a moth emerge. It was pretty cool. Both my daughters enjoy catching what they can and putting it in here to observe.

My daughter has had a blast catching critters
My Daughter Loves this product! She has always been curious to learn more about little critters but was too afraid to get too close. As soon as we opened the package she was outside running with it trying to collect critters. She was able to catch a large grasshopper pretty quickly and was so excited to be able to study it through the built in magnifying glass! The habitat also has a feeder inside so she felt like she was able to take care of her critter before releasing him later. This product is great for both wet and dry critters, after she released the grasshopper we filled it with water and put tadpoles inside. She has had the best time watching them grow and slowly turn into frogs!

Wish this had a lock on the lid
I really did like the idea of this for playing outside in the yard, however I really wish that the lid had some sort of snap or lock on it. I have only let the kids put plants in there because I am afraid for them to collect any other critters for fear that the lid will come off.

Best Outside Toy Ever!
This is the best outside toy. My kids have played more with this toy then with any other outside toy! They have loved searching for bugs or critters and they love taking care of them. No more broken glass jars for us!!

Great habitat for wet and dry creatures
The habitat is a gallon size rectangular hard plastic with 5 magnifying spots and a cool slide out rotating feeder. Great for dry or wet environment. There is a lid with a handle for the kids to carry. The lid also has small air holes for the creature to breath. Since we lived in the city we decided to use the habitat for a beta fish. The gallon size is roomy and the fish is happy. The kids can watch the fish up close using the magnifying circles on the side of the habitat or on top of the lid. They like to slide out the feeder, load the pellets onto feeder and push it back to dump the food. We have not used the habitat as a dry environment yet but can easily imagine the kids using it to study bugs, butterfly or frogs later on. It's portable and light weight for the kids to carry on their future outdoor explorations. Given that we are using the habitat as a wet environment we are not sure if it's safe to carry the habitat using the handle. We carry it using the base only. Not sure if the number of air holes on the lid is enough for the fish so my husband unscrew the 2 magnifying circles on the lid as a precaution.

Great for curious minds!
My daughter is a very curious kid, and the Critter Habitat is a great way to teach her about science and nature. She quickly understood what it meant to create a habitat. She loves finding different things in nature to put in her Critter Habitat. We've built "homes" for worms, frogs and lady bugs in the container, using dirt, leaves, sticks, flower pedals and whatever else she can find. It definitely has been a great toy for education and family bonding.
