A: She is asking if she can use it with another version of Dawn not another cleaning product, Dawn. So unless I am reading this incorrectly, yes you can use different scents with the same trigger sprayer.

A: Thank you, Melissa, for asking if your Dawn Platinum Powerwash Spray bottle is recyclable. The bottle itself can be recycled at any facility that accepts plastic #1. They sprayer needs to be tossed in the garbage.

Does “while ensuring“ mean both the trigger and bottle are now recyclable? I know the trigger now uses plastic springs, is the rest of the spray mechanism really OK to recycle?

Q: Why is this called "free and clear" when for 20 years, people have relied on that label to mean fragrance- and dye-free? I bought this and the sprayer and couldn't use them because of the fragrance!

Bring back the clear Dawn free and clear in the regular bottle not the squeeze. I can hardly squeeze it . I am in my 70’s with arthritis but make it clear I like to fill my dispensers and don’t like the blue.

I wish I had seen the below review, which is 100% correct. Selling a scented product as "Free and Clear" is false advertising, plain and simple!! If they can't sell unscented I want my money back!!! AVOID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! "It’s very misleading to brand this product “Free and Clear”, and to list that as an option under the Scent options, and then have fragrance in the product. I bought the “Free and Clear” version online and so I didn’t see the tiny print under it that says *of dyes, has a light pear scent. ”Free and Clear” is being used pretty universally to indicate that no scents/ fragrances/ perfumes are added, so I am confused about why Dawn would use this term for a perfumed product. Why can’t this version be made without fragrance in it so that people with fragrance sensivities/ intolerances have an option they can actually buy and use comfortably?"

I am in my 40s and have used Dawn my entire life. New scent “fresh” is awful. It smells like rotting onions and I feel like it stinks to my dishes. Returning my purchase and I guess I will find a new dish soap. Take a cue from the makers of Smart Balance who tried to change their formula too. They ended up changing right back after a few months. If it’s not broke then don’t fix it.

The “new scent” is terrible. My nose and throat felt irritated right away and it was as if I could taste it from the fumes. I’ve never described soap as having fumes before but I’m switching soap brands now. This is terrible.

I'm really impressed with the Dawn Powerwash Clean and Clear dish soap! It cuts through grease like magic, making dishwashing so much faster and easier. I love that it's fragrance-free, as I'm sensitive to strong scents. The spray nozzle provides great coverage, and a little goes a long way. 1 star because it won't post without one. The new scent is awful and I will not go an extra step of soaking in water and vinegar as suggested to another consumer. P&G's solution to the lingering sickening smell is to use extra steps? Maybe you had a good reason to not use original scent anymore, but to ignore the consumer's distaste of the new scent is DISTASTEFUL. A true free and clear would be nice, but I don't expect that from P&g either. Bye P&G products, period.

I’ve been using Dawn for years and find the new smell of Dawn Platinum utterly revolting. It’s a chemically perfumy odor that’s hard to rinse away and sticks on plastic. Please go back to using more scents from things we’d actually put on plates—lemons, oranges, mint—even spaghetti would smell better than Dawn Platinum.

I love that Dawn has their Powerwash in Free and Clear, as I don't need those extra dyes or heavy fragrances to clean my dishes. I typically wash my dishes right after I eat, and don't need to fill up the sink, so this is great at getting them washed quickly. It also works pretty fast on dishes that I would typically need to soak a bit, but I let the soap sit for a couple minutes, and there's no need to excess soaking. It also works great as a laundry pre-treatment for stains and is safe and strong enough to clean other things around the home. Highly recommended!

I have been using Dawn Platinum religiously for nearly a decade. It cleans the best hands down, then one day I buy a new bottle of fresh rain scent and you know what, it smells completely terrible. So bad that it actually makes me feel ill. Then I try other scents hoping to still be able to use it. Lemon, terrible! Jasmine, less so but still terrible! I finally found one scent (Green Papaya) that was ok and I could handle. Now I can't find it anywhere, so I came here just to find you don't list that scent anymore as it must have been discontinued. Why? Who knows but now I'm stuck with the terrible scents and it appears I am not alone. If you can handle the assault on your nasal cavity then I would recommend it, but give it a sniff at the store because for most people I know we've stopped using it because it smells so bad.

Why did you modify the formula of a product that people liked? That was foolish. Now I and many others can’t stand the smell and will find alternatives. Later you’ll likely revert back to the original formula but in the meantime many of us will have moved on. Changing the formula was not a good business decision.
