Q: Should it have a seal when brand new?

A: Thank you for reaching out. Our Free & Clear Dish Liquid will no longer come with a foil seal. We made the decision to remove the foil seal to improve manufacturing efficiencies and reduce waste. Historically, only the Free & Clear version of our Dish Liquid came with a seal. The seal cannot be recycled or reused so it must be thrown in the trash. Though the foil seal is a very small part of the packaging, last year alone, we sold almost 6 million bottles so that is 6 million seals ending up in our landfills. Now fully recyclable even caps. We hope this helps!

Seventh generation dish soap free and clear is good but not excellent. I feel like it did not have the lasting power like some of the other brands for example method dish soap. I I did not care for the fact that it did not have a natural scent like other eco-friendly environmental products do. The cleaning power is okay but not as efficient as other natural dish soaps that I have used. I would use this product if I was in a pinch and needed a natural product but this would not be my first pick.

Seventh Generation is personally one of my favorite brands in everything it releases. It’s sensitive to the skin, but always has amazing scents and packaging. This dish soap is the PERFECT lavender scent, and the mint isn’t overpowering. It gets grease, grime, and just dirt in general. It’s multi-purpose and affordable.

My favorite dish soap. I get a headache from the super strong scent of Dawn and I can also smell and feel it on my dishes even after I’ve rinsed them well. This product is made with better ingredients and I don’t have any issues with it rinsing off completely. I wash all my baby’s bottles and dishes with it as well as my pump parts.

I ordered three, and one came broken lid plus leaking. Even though they were wrapped in plastic bags and were tied , sill leaked out of the bag. The dish soap's liquid flew out to box. Inside of package did not have extra bubble paper or cushion. The products were loose and were hitting each other. This is probably causing the bottle broken and starting to leak. 2nd, the box did not have indication of which side should be up. My box came with upside down. It is probably another cause of leaking. Lastly, I had several other products inside the box. The heavy liquid dish soap and hand soap were on top of chocolate quinoa chips when I unboxing. Luckily, the chips were not shattered or covered by liquid.

Unfortunately I broke out in skin rashes all over my body at my sister’s house because this dish soap contains methylisothiazolinone and benzisothiazolinone. (These chemicals become air borne and can cause rashes from breathing them). I am very grateful Seventh Generation discloses their ingredients so I knew the cause.

The soap is fine, but (once again), the product was damaged and missing some of its content (drive up order). CLEARLY, the content of the bottle had previously spilled as there was less than the normal measured amount of soap in the bottle. Whatever amount that was in the bottle was dried up and coating the bottle itself. I think this is the last time I shop at Target, as this has been happening way too often for my liking.
