A: 3 boxes bought on 5/20/2025 for delivery had "03045MCLB 23:33" and yellow plastic. Prior box had "08154MCLB 18:03" and clear white plastic. Based on the numbers, 3 very old boxes were delivered.

A: Thank you for reaching out. Containers made from PCR tend to be lightly tinted with a gray/ yellow hue. This is simply due to the recycled nature of the plastic and is not directly related to the quality or safety of the container itself. The distinct tint of PCR plastic is most prevalent in containers that are made from 100% recycled materials. When PET (plastic) is processed for recycling, a yellowing of the material often occurs. Sometimes, additives are used to correct this so that the color of the recycled content will be clear, but Seventh Generation does not use dyes in any products or packaging. We hope this helps!

A: Thank you for asking. We're sorry these directions are confusing. You can definitely wash your stainless-steel cutlery with our product, alongside your normal dishes, plates, cups, etc. This "Mixed Metals" disclaimer means you should not mix different types of metals in the same load together. For example, we advise against washing stainless steel flatware and sterling silver in the same load, since softer metals can redeposit into harder metals in the dishwasher, causing discoloration. This is called mixed metals chemistry. In this case, we would advise running a cycle with your regular dishes, glasses, plastic, etc and only the stainless steel OR only the silver. It does not mean that this product cannot be used at all to clean metal silverware. This has nothing to do with our product specifically, but a general dishwasher usage reminder. We made this decision in response to concerns about the build-up of microplastics in oceans and lakes. Our products now contain alternative exfoliating ingredients such as apricot kernels, cornmeal, ground pumice, silica and walnut shells. A: That is a great question. We have the Zero Plastic Fragrance Free Dishwasher Detergent Powder that is in a steel canister. Steel is the easiest recyclable material.
