A: I’m no expert, but I think more plastic would be in the pods, which are covered in a plastic wrap that disintegrates during the wash, and potentially traces can end up left on your dishes and silverware. This is one reason why people avoid the pods and only use the loose dishwashing powder.

A: It's actually a lot more than what the 'expert' says. The pods from the same brand are 0.5289 oz each, and if you use the equivalent amount of powder, for a box of 45 oz you get 85 loads.

Based on volume of product and that standard dishwasher detergent compartments hold 1 oz. of detergent, will handle 45 loads.
