Allergy to the the preservative used. It was the allergen of the year in 2013 and should not be in a free and clear product in my opinion.
I believe when I first started using this product that it did not have the preservative isothiazolinone in it. However, it now does have that in it, and I am allergic to it. Big time. I gave bottles that I had purchased away and changed to another product

Turns thick and white when slightly cold
This soap turns thick and white if we store it either under our sink or next to our sink by a window. If we store it away from an exterior wall, it remains a normal consistency. The issue seems to be temperature based, as soaking the bottle of soap in a cup of warm water helps it turn clear again. Having to regularly try and turn your dish soap back to liquid is silly and a waste of time.
