Broke after a couple weeks- waste of money

I bought the racer for my grandkids based upon having purchased the original yellow coup for my daughter back in the early eights and she loved it. It lasted until she grew too big to even sit in it. It was a very durable coup and assembled well without any problems. However, this model is NOTHING like the earlier version. While it looks really sporty, it is not of the same quality, and I don't anticipate it lasting as my daughter's. The material is not as durable, the assembly is below average with difficult fitting parts. It is a shame that little tikes have obviously dropped the original version for a cheaper product such as this. Over the years I have purchased little tikes toys and was never disappointed until now. The only reason I gave it two stars is based upon it's looks and nothing else.

Parts doesn't line up together at all with the holes. The whole body is the issue with the car . I wouldn't buy this product at all . It took 3 hours to get it together but, it still not perfect for a child to use very cheap and unsafe not worth the headache.

Hard to put together the pieces were off so you have to put pressure on the parts to work . It seems very unsafe and not well designed for plastic pieces.

I bought the black jet racer for my grandson. The assembly was unacceptable because the holes for the back wheel axle were not aligned. Also , this plastic car requires a drill for the hand breaks. We figured it all out but really ? Little Tikes can do better than this!

Very disappointed! Years back my kids loved the Rubbermaid pedal car. Was excited to see this one for grandkids. After having the car less than 24 hr, the front PLASTIC wheel bushings were stripped. Agreed, the car wasn’t that expensive but a 3 yr old stripped the bushings in less than 2 hours. Hardly worth the $.

This is as cheaply made as it possibly gets. I followed the instructions and watched the office video online for the build just to make sure I wasn't making a mistake. Every single piece ALMOST fits. You have to manipulate them to the point of feeling like they will snap and then it works, kind of. I ultimately did put it together but I have no faith this will last more than 4-5 uses before something snaps or an integral screw strips the plastic. Do not buy this cheap crap.

I was very excited to purchase this item for my children. I have fond memories of playing with this as a child myself. Assembly was pretty simple and straightforward but the quality of the steering handle covers is lacking. They do not sit flush and there is not enough thread on the screws to tighten it down so there is a gap. This gap gives the appearance of low quality.

This review is not lost on me that it's a toy and a toy for a youngster. It's going to get greatly overused, abused and hopefully loved. Heck, we are Little Tikes advocates based on other toys we own plus the fact I owned the 1980's yellow version of this car, which I LOVED. Parts are good, concept good but assembly a bear since manufacturing is off. 1- Star - Sport Racer #1 No holes cut out in body of car, making assembly non-existent. I could cut holes myself but worried all parts would align properly. Calling customer service. 4 - Stars - Customer Service was top notch. Took my request professionally and responded promptly. Shipping was a bit slow and when requested tracking #, they expedited shipping; much appreciated since it's holiday season. 2 - Stars - Sport Racer #2 Material is good, instructions are thorough and packing fine. However, mounting holes in the body of the car are manufactured poorly. Mounting clips for front axle would not fit in holes and required further drilling. Holes for steering columns not centered; functionally fine but cosmetically off, see pic. Holes for rear axle slightly off but after muscling, able to fit. Steering cover holes slightly off and reamed out to fit properly; still making covers cosmetically not aligned (see pic). Stickers were high quality but once they're on, they're on. Recommend cutting them apart, with backing still attached, and mock-up placement. No alignment markings on car for stickers so they're at the mercy of your eyes. If I had read this reviewing, I WOULD purchase again. Open immediately to confirm body of car has mounting holes. Easy to repackage since all parts (except wheels) are self contained in one box. Embarrassed this toy is manufactured in the USA, manufacturing needs refining.

My Grams & Gramps bought me this. It’s fabulous, as I am able to zoom around my garden. Which is lovely as I can’t go to play with my friends.

My kids who are 34, 27 and 25 had an earlier sport car like this and loved it so much! We loaned it to three other families between and after they outgrew it and it was loved by all. I am so glad you are making it again! I ordered one for our church nursery. The steering and pedals make this our most popular vehicle!

I bought this for my granddaughter for her 5th birthday. I love the sporty style of it!! It's good sized and pretty easy to pedal. She just got it so I'm not sure how durable it will be, but it seems pretty sturdy. The rear wheel steering is a bit challenging to get used to. My granddaughter is small for her age and she fits in it fine, but her cousin who is also 5 is too big for it. This was very frustrating to assemble, and several pieces didn't seem to fit correctly, things didn't line up right. We put it together in 2.5 hours to the best of our ability. It is one of her favorite birthday gifts!!

My son , who is now 34 years old had this car in bright yellow, When he was five years old he rode the car until he wore the tires out. He would spin it around a turn on two wheels and back shift it to stop it. It was one of his favorite toys of all time. It gives us smiling memories. My grandsons need one.

It’s pretty easy to put together. The directions were very easy to follow. It petals and starts very easy. My kids can be pretty rough on things, but this car is heavy duty! It can hold up to the toughest situations. I guarantee your child will love the little tikes sports racer as much as mine did! It’s very safe compared to others! You don’t have to worry about your child falling out! I highly recommend this car!! Parents, you won’t be disappointed.

My girls both love it and are 5 and 7. They race it up and down our dirt drive with no problem, and they both are able to use it comfortably. It's the perfect outdoor toy and I love that this can be for a while before my kids outgrow it!

The steering is easy, it can go as fast as your child can peddle, my son goes very fast. He has not had any issues with it sliding or turning over like other cars. It was easy to assemble and it was great having my son place the stickers on.

I love how easy it was to put together no problem with it at all. I love the tires on this large enough to make it easy to go thru sand on the beach. I also like how it can easily be used on the cement too and it moves so nice and smooth. This is a very sturdy toy that will have many years of use out of it the best part about this its a universal color so a boy or a girl can use this toy. This is a adorable and very well made and a good quality toy and it can be used by many ages and sizes too. I’m extremely pleased with this and its well worth every penny because this is a toy that will last forever.

So old school with handles and the pedals on the outside of the rider. This sport rider is so much more advanced. It does take some time to assemble, but once that's completed it's game on. So worth the time and effort! It keeps my daughter entertained for hours! Since she is out of school all she wants to do is ride this racer. We recently had a slumber party, this was definitely a hit. The girls took turns riding, now they all want one!
