It works!
I have oily skin and live in a humid climate so shine is something I deal with daily. This is the only thing that has actually delivered on mattifying and stayed. I applied it under and over tinted sunscreen and it worked fine. Nothing else changed about my regular makeup routine. I received this product for free from Smashbox for testing and review purposes.

Works great
I used this primer under my makeup and I used it alone. I have very oily skin and I must say this worked wonderfully. It kept the shine away. I received this free to try from smash box. I would purchase and I definitely recommend.

My favorite primer of all time
I have been a huge fan of smashbox primers for years, so I was excited to try the oil control primer because I have an oily T-zone. But I'll admit I was concerned about it drying out my skin. So I was pleasantly surprised by the results. My oily T-zone is only amplified by the fact that I live in the South, where humidity levels are astronomical. So oil pads accompany me everywhere I go. Well not any more, this primer kept the oily at bay. It kept my oil in check while still providing a beautiful base for my makeup and preventing it from melting off my face mid day. It made my skin look healthy and dewy. I don't know how smashbox made a formula that doesn't dry out your skin, but they did!!! I can't imagine going back to a different primer after this, especially with summer just around the corner. I can't recommend this primer more to anyone with oily skin like me!! Mattifying Primer Works
I have oily T-zone and my makeup never lasts all day. I had to try this primer to see if it helps with keeping the foundation in place. While I can't use too much of it because much of my other area of the face is no longer as oily as it used to, the oily zone actually is preserved by the use of this primer. During summer months when it's really humid, I see the benefit of using this primer, especially if I have to be outdoor a lot. My job requires wearing makeup outdoor a lot of times, and when it's extremely humid I use this primer as a guard for keeping the makeup last longer instead of melting away with the oil and sweat. No oil whatsoever!
I received this product for free from Smashbox for testing and review purposes. I suffer from having a mixed skin type which includes an oily face so I actively look for cosmetics formulated for oily skin types. This primer worked extremely well to control the oil on my face while my makeup was applied while also providing a solid base layer for the rest of the makeup I normally use. I would absolutely spend the money on this again!

Perfection in a tube!
I've been using the Smashbox Oil Control Primer mostly in the morning before applying my makeup, and it has made a noticeable difference in how my makeup wears throughout the day. Love love love
Obsessed with this primer. It goes on so smoothly and works really well. It's very light and you can't even tell you're wearing it. I was impressed by how well it helped with oil control, even on my nose, which tends get shiny pretty quickly. I love that it's invisible after applied, because I can wear it under make up or on it's own to help prevent oily skin. I put this on at night because my face gets oily by morning. I loved how it made my face matte and my face was not oily by morning. I was excited to try this since i have oily skin. However, when I tried it on, i felt like my face was more oily for some reason. This primer has been a fantastic for my daily makeup routine. I fell in love with it because not only does it control my oily skin. It gives my skin a nice matte finish. This makes my concealer and foundation not have any cakey buildup. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a primer with oily or combination skin. I'm always searching for a primer to get me through a 13-hour shift and this one definitely delivers! I have combination skin and sweat A LOT. This one held my face makeup in place and controlled the oily look amazingly well. The only drawbacks I found were that it takes a lot of product, like a quarter sized dollop instead of a dime to nickel, and it didn't control the spread of my eyeliner and mascara very well even using a waterproof of both products. I have noticed that it does better if I use an eye specific primer around my eyes. I would love to try this primer with the same formulation of foundation to see if that has any effect.

Reliable Oil Control That Survives a Workout
I've been using the Photo Finish Oil Control Primer under my makeup for both daytime and evening wear. I wore it under makeup on a warm day and during a workout, and it controlled oil exceptionally well. It has a lightweight feel. Even though it contains Salicylic Acid, it didn't dry out my skin or cause any breakouts, which is a huge plus for anyone with sensitive or blemish-prone skin. It isn't a heavy pore-filler or fine-line smoother, but it is a powerhouse for maintaining a matte finish without that tight, dehydrated feeling. The two reasons I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is the scent and I'd like more pore filling and line smoothing to smooth out texture. The scent was a bit "meh," but fortunately, it's mild enough that it isn't offensive or lingering. If you need something that stays put through heat and humidity only, it's a great choice. Great mattifying primer
I love the texture of this primer, super smooth and silky, melting in my skin. It's not drying, but nicely mattify in areas I applied. I have combination skin so I applied it only in my t zone. And it didn't break me down, so is very important.

I recently tried SmashBox photo finish Oil Control Mattifying primer and it just worked perfectly on my skin. It helped me with the shine reduction and it stayed for a long time under my make up. Smashbox is always the best primer. I have all primers from smashbox and I use this one for the summer. My skin is combination and I didn't like the blemishes so this primer works great.

I have issues with my face getting oily a few hours after applying my makeup so I was excited to try this product. It was a great primer...my face felt hydrated and smoothed after applying. It immediately made my face look less oily and it extended the wear time of my makeup by hours. I would recommend this product to anyone else with oily skin. I have tried this several times. I have tried it under my regular makeup as a primer, plus on no makeup days just to control oil. It does limit oil and shine, but some definitely still occurred. As a primer, it worked very well and I was happy with how my makeup looked and held up. I would have preferred more oil and shine control, since that is one of the key selling points of the product, but it overall worked well.
