Q: They are very stiff. Any way to make opening and closing more smooth. They get stuck and hard to open and close

A: Thanks for sharing your experience. If the Fiskars 5" Non-Stick Deco Point Kids' Scissors feel stiff, here are a few things you can try to help them open and close more smoothly: Work them open and closed repeatedly – sometimes new scissors just need to be “broken in” a bit with use. Apply a small drop of household oil (like sewing machine oil or even a bit of vegetable oil) to the pivot point. Open and close the scissors several times to work the oil in, then wipe away any excess. Check for packaging residue – occasionally, a bit of leftover adhesive or coating from packaging can cause stiffness. Cleaning around the pivot with a soft cloth can help.

These are a bit pricey for kid's scissors. However, these are good quality scissors with a cute design. It is perfect for my rainbow obsessed 5 year old. I docked a star because the handle is a slick plastic instead of the soft grip handle that is on our other pair of fiskars kid scissors.

The have rounded tips for safety and the a larger finger loop to make them easier to hold. My son seems to have more control using these than his other pair of little scissors.

Got this one and it’s super easy and safe for her to use. This pair is sharp but it has blunt tops so it can prevent unexpected accidents. It’s also small and fit my daughter hands perfectly.

On the use front, both my young daughters love the scissors and told me that they worked well. They have fought over it as well at times. The oldest has stated that for some jobs, the scissor length could be longer. You can tell the scissors are made of goid quality materials as you would expect from Fiskars. I would recommend this product!
