Target really thought they could take the black version of this curtain rod (sold on target.com for $20.99 - see screenshot), spray paint it gold, and charge an additional $34 ($54.99 total) for their shabby spray paint job. I probably wouldn’t have even realized this but for the fact that there is a chip on the end of one of the rods (revealing the black original $20 rod) (see picture 1) and fibrous imperfections along the rod (as if hair got onto the rod before the gold paint dried) (see picture 2). Not only am I disappointed in the quality, but I’m mad that Target scammed me. When I called customer service, I told her about the flaws and how I realized that Target clearly spray painted the cheaper rod gold and charged $34 more for it, and how I probably wouldn’t care about these imperfections once the rods were hung with curtains, but $55 is a lot of money for $20 spray painted rods!! I’m returning them, and I’ll never buy curtain rods from Target again.
