Q: Do they have a smell or are they truly unscented?

A: SCENTED!! This is ridiculous! They used to actually be UNSCENTED as the box claims but now they are not! I have a severe medical condition known as “MCAS” that is triggered by fragrances among other things! This is unacceptable! False advertising and a health hazard.
submitted bySteph J - 3 months agoA: These are no longer unscented. I've been buying these for years. The new version in the light blue box (despite being labeled unscented) have a light scent to them. They cause headaches.

submitted bySwissDotRose - 6 months agoA: THEY USED TO BE UNSCENTED. For the first , they suddenly have a horrid smell. We have some one who had an allergic reaction, hives. I can't stand target anymore. THE REVIEWS SHOW CLEARLY SOME OF THE UNSCENTED BOXES WERE FILLED WITH THE SCENTED BAGS RECENTLY AND NO ONE AT TARGET HAS CARED TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT BECAUSE IT IS STILL HAPPENING WELL OVER 6 MONTHS LATER. I just bought 100 bags pack June 2024 and they REEK. they did used to be completely unscented. Not anymore .

A: These bags do have an added fragrance. The cardboard box they come in doesn’t have a smell, but the bags themselves do. It smells pretty strong.

I’ve used the unscented version of these up and up bags for years and they’re strong and never rip. They all of a sudden have a chemical odor or “scent” to them. Not a fan anymore. Keep them unscented!

First of all these are too short for my normal sized trash can. I did buy the right size (tall kitchen), they just are not the right size. They just hang into the trash can. Second, I have always used the Kroger brand trash bags which do not have the goofy stretchy effect that these have, and they have never leaked unless I accidentally stabbed something sharp thru the side. Within the first few uses of these bags, I have a leaky one. It leaked with old meat inside. Disgusting, and there wasn’t even a visible hole! It’s just wet outside the bag. Nothing cold in the bag to make condensation either. Very annoyed.
