I bought this a month ago and I’ve only needed to charge it 2 times since I opened the box. The tracking metrics are super detailed and seem more accurate than my last Apple Watch. Also being active, there does not even look to be a scratch on the watch, still looks new.

For the money, i would have expected to be able to type a response to a text message on the watch. Altimeter will sometimes show very different things. I live 30' above sea level and it will frequently tell me im -21'

I had been hesitant to purchase a Smart Watch for quite a few years now, and trying to decide between Garmin, or a more modestly priced Android watch with calls/texts. I am fairly active between Mountain Biking, and HIIT training at the gym, and had been tracking all my activity without heart monitoring via Strava. I'm stoked I ended up picking up the Epix. I was on the hunt for a Fenix 7 for some time, but they were not available, and Epix fit the bill (I don't think I could have gone wrong with either option). The 47mm fit is great. I founded the 51mm too bulky for my wrest. I got used to the weight factor after about 2 weeks of continuous wear (the Forerunner is a bit lighter weight feeling). Heart monitoring, stress, sleep, ride, and workout tracking are fantastic, with useful analysis, and seamless syncing with Strava. Pulling my maps and routes from Strava to navigate from the watch is easy. The most time consuming setup is customizing a billion options of data screens (but out of the box defaults are plenty great). I did buy a screen protector thankfully, which saved the watch face from a kettlebell, which smashed the screen protector, but protected the glass beneath. Navigation on the go is helpful. Not as detailed and easy to follow as the full blown Garmin bike computer. However, the vibrating turn by turn directions, Climb Pro, and Heart rate zones for long uphill slogs are perfect. Then of course, the GPS for those downhill PRs are super accurate! The communication features are useful, such as daily reports of rest and training readiness, sleep score, incoming texts, phone calls, and other notifications (via Bluetooth from my Android phone). My only gripes are that I am having difficulty figuring out how to disable constant barometer and altitude meter, which are battery hogs (even after reading the support page). I am guessing this is more user error than a Garmin issue. And also not being able to track my V02 (an important metric I'd like to use) without purchasing a power meter for my pedals. Heart rate monitor can also be stop tracking while bouncing downhill through the janky stuff, but it's not a big deal, and I don't feel compelled to buy the optional chest-strap heart monitor. The initial purchase cost definitely took some saving, but I love that there are no costly monthly subscriptions required. Cost was one and one. Overall I'm stoked on this watch, and hope it serves me well for some time to come!

I love my new epix Pro gen 2 watch. I have the 47mm size, perfect for my wrist. I've had the watch for nearly a month, and I am convinced I made the correct choice. My primary attraction to it was for its health benefits. I needed a way to measure oxygen saturation, and this watch provides a measurement that appears quite accurate. I love the fact that a 2-hour charge gives me 14 days of battery life. This allows me to wear it overnight. I have a problem with sleep, and its way of analyzing my sleep is quite amazing. Already it is giving me insights which have resulted in improving sleep scores. But beyond this, other measurements of activities are prodding me to do more exercise and to overall feel better. I am very satisfied with its connection with my iPhone. Text messages are easy to read, and for messages I do not need to save or respond to I simply delete them via the watch. Since I always have my phone with me, the inability of the watch to respond to texts is not a big deal. Over time I will undoubtedly use many more of its features, such as route finding and way-marking for hiking. It is truly a great product.

I purchased this watch about a month ago so just scratching the surface of its features. So far I absolutely love everything about this watch. From the customizable display which is very easy to see in all lighting to the tracking of my exercise. I use it for cycling indoors and out, hiking, and weight training. I enjoy the morning report and for the most part it seems to be pretty accurate was far as my readiness score. So far I'm happy with the purchase.

Purchased a few weeks ago prior to a trip to Colorado to replace an aging Apple Watch. So impressed with the features, the AMOLED screen, and the battery life! Setup was not quite as intuitive as the Apple Watch, but still pretty straightforward. Also took about 24 hrs of use to get used to the different buttons, but after that it’s rarely left my wrist! Did I mention battery life??? It’s truly amazing. I’ve used the watch for walks, runs, and hikes so far, and it’s accurate and has so many great features and ways to track your workout. It’s exactly what I needed to kickstart my workouts. If you’re on the fence about a Garmin, just pull the trigger. You won’t regret it at all!

    Bright screen, clunky interface

I have owned Garmin watches in the past, which were actually easier to use and more configurable, such as the original forerunner 450, and used it as a cycling computer, programming that watch to scroll through three different screens continuously. For Its time it was a brilliant watch, but the main problem was the battery life and especially screen brightness, which are obviously related the good news about the Epix pro is the brightness of the screen, this is an outstanding advance, undoubtedly related to better battery capacity The bad news is that that previous Level of configuration is difficult to replicate with the Epix Pro As pro athletes we don’t need all the goofy “ training readiness” type stuff, so maybe it’s not the right tool for the job, and maybe the “Pro” in the name is meaningless hype. The sleep function is cool, but not unique. The body battery doesn’t make sense to me yet. Furthermore, navigating through screens is exceedingly non-intuitive, and getting from viewing results or active monitoring versus setup is a random Hunt and peck exercise. One of my buddies on a recent climb in the Alps had the same watch, and he could not help me nor himself either. I’m going to try and look at some of the third-party cycling apps to see if there is more help there, And I acknowledge that buying a watch this complicated just before three weeks of hard climbing in the Alps is not an entirely fair test I really want to love this watch. It’s not completely terrible, but really falls a short of being a great watch. Kinda sad when the programming flexibility of a watch from the same company 10 years ago is better than what the current designers are putting out now, in the name of advancement. Keep trying Garmin!

Going from an Apple watch to this Garmin was incredible. Very easy to use UI, and having multiple buttons and touch screen is amazing. The ability to tracking everyday life is so much easier and contains so much more detail than any other "smart watch". Having the Golf feature is a plus for me as well since that is a regular hobby of mine. I have and will continue to recommend this product to everyone who asks me about it!
