    Good upgrade

It's quite an upgrade over my Approach S62, but not flawless. Occasional unexplained reboots and moments of touchscreen not working keep it from being 5 stars.

    Great Device

So far, so good. It works great. My only complaint is that I hate being told every day that my sleep was "non-restorative." I suppose if it's scientifically based it's fine but every other device I've every worn differs. But it's great at what I want it for.

    Nice Watch + Golf App.

So much clearer and easier to read than my Instinct 2. I am happy that I purchased this one on Prime day! The Golf app is fantastic.

    I couldn't be happier

I bought this about 3 weeks ago, and I don't think I could be more pleased, especially since it's perfectly complete for my needs while being a 2023 release. This is my first Amoled Garmin, and while I love the solar approach and the MIP display, the amoled is sharp! I love the training features that are an upgrade from my instinct The advanced sleep data and sleep coach are truly helpful The battery life should put Apple Watch Ultra to utter vexation and shame for all time

    Topographic maps downloads

I have problems updating my topographic maps on my epix pro Error message saying it cannot detect the device. Starting and exiting my watch does not fix it. When I charge the watch it will not download all the maps entirely.

    Comprehensive

Reason for 4stars, everytime there is a new update, it goes into “demo mode” and my settings are erased. I then need to start all over again setting up my watch.

    Excellent Performance Multi Activity Watch

Really happy with my Epix Pro Gen2 watch. I previously owned a Fenix 7X Sapphire Solar but decided to side-grade to the Epix Pro for its brighter AMOLED screen and upgraded sensors. The higher and brighter resolution makes it easier to read without glasses, also the upgraded Elevate 5 Heart Rate sensor works remarkably well compared to a HR chest band when doing high intensity workouts. Finally, having frequent heart palpitations, I also use the ECG feature to monitor for possible AFIBs. Great unit with plenty of performance metrics across numerous sports activities.

Easy to read screen, even in daylight.

So, far, so good. I'm coming from a Fenix 6X Sapphire as of about two weeks ago, so a MIPS to AMOLED is a major change. The AOD or blank screen takes getting used to as a MIPS screen is there 100% 24/7. The Fenix series is 280x280 vs 454x454 for Epix, so major upgrade there. Of course a round screen isn't just x times x, there's Pi and etc. involved. So, Fenix is around 61,000 pixels vs 161,000 pixels for Epix. (approx) And color depth, so maps are shaded 3D relief and shows labels that aren't there on a Fenix. Background details on watch faces that don't work on MIPS opens up a new world. I was concerned about battery life, but it really isn't dropping like I thought it might. I'm four days in and it's at 62% and that's with AOD on. Yes, a watch is nice if it lasts 3 weeks, but you know, it has to come off and get cleaned SOMETIME anyway. (as well as your arm) The software is an upgrade with a lot of little things. "Widgets" are gone, now it's "Glances" so I don't search for widgets in the store now, just apps. Glances are upgraded from my 6X, such as weather and even sunlight with extra screens and info. I no longer bother with 3rd party apps as the Garmin ones are more than enough now. That was an unexpected upgrade for me. It's much snappier than the 6X so faster processor. The ECG is a major upgrade from a 6X. I dropped one star because downloaded watch faces intermittently revert back to a default face with no rhyme or reason. It might go a day without, or twice in as many hours. It's very irritating. So, for me, it's so far, so good as I don't think I'm going back to MIPS. Oh, yes, the flashlight. I'm a caver, so even in daily life I have at least 3 on me always; belt pack, keychain, even a Lumintop Ant Man LEP in my pocket. But on the watch, you ALWAYS have one on your person. In a sleeping bag while camped, going to the bathroom at night at home, it's ALWAYS there for instant use. It's not a gimmick like I thought, and is plenty bright.

Great watch for health and fitness and biometrics

I was skeptical at first about moving away from Apple, but after using the Garmin Epix Pro (Gen 2), I can confidently say this watch is on another level for fitness, hiking, and overall functionality. The customization alone is incredible , being able to create my own custom watch face and even add my company logo made it feel truly personal and professional at the same time. The durability is outstanding, and the silicone wristband is extremely comfortable whether I’m in business attire, at the gym, or out on a long hike. One of my favorite features is the built-in LED flashlight. It sounds simple, but once you use it, you realize how useful it is every single day, especially for hiking, travel, and early morning workouts. I’m also extremely impressed with how seamlessly it syncs with AllTrails and integrates into my hiking routine. The glance features are fantastic as well. I can quickly check stock updates for my investments, weather conditions, biometric data, notifications, and fitness metrics all from a stylish watch that honestly looks far more premium than most smartwatches on the market. What really separates this watch for me is the biometric and health data. During my fitness journey, the recovery tracking, HRV, sleep data, training metrics, and overall wellness insights have been incredibly valuable and motivating. I wear this watch 24 hours a day because it has become such an important tool for both my health and outdoor activities. Garmin absolutely exceeded my expectations with the Epix Pro (Gen 2). Highly recommended.

Great Software - Poor fit and finish

For the cost, I am displeased with the sapphire screen and the charging port. Both seem to be of poor quality. The "sapphire" crystal screen exhibits many scratches which I did not think that surface type was supposed to do. The power/charging plug is a poor design. The plug will not stay in the watch, even the weight of the cable will pull it out, making charging difficult (you have to disable any notifications as well- any buzz notification will dislodge the charging cable).

    Research Paid Off

Had a Fenix 6 and battery life was starting to diminish along with broken strap so thought better to get something new. Fenix 7 was on sale for a nice price but after doing a lot of research went with the Epic Pro in 51mm. My eyes are starting to fail me so the size does not feel too big. Love the screen and colors. Connects to my phone so well. Love the morning message. This feels like a huge upgrade over my 6. Is it worth the money? It has helped motivate me to be more active. I don't take it off and don't need to due to the 30 day battery life. Beyond happy.

The watch is awesome built great. Comfortable, tough. The gps and maps super cool. The Health aspect is ok. App is not great. Entering your exercise manually not great. Even in free mode you have to go in and make all kinds of updates. Not a fan of that.
