Cool watch!
First smart watch. Overall very happy with the watch and glad I purchased it! (For context I'm a serious cyclist that tracks "training" rides with my Edge 840 (also a great product!). Im on a Garmin Coach plan, I'm drinking the cool aid so to say...). Wanted the watch for health metrics, (I also do a lot of trail work and other active stuff) and most importantly simple tracking of mountain bike rides when I don't want to fuss with a heart rate strap and computer. Text notifications are bonus and more beneficial than I thought they wound be. Everything was easy to setup with Connect etc. I'm happy to track rides with it but the heart rate is not very accurate and lags pretty hard. (This is a function of the optical sensor and is simply the way they are is my understanding, I was curious to see how far off it would be, and yeah, its pretty far off sometimes....). I can also sync my HR strap to it so that's an option. This is one of the most affordable in the Garmin line, it does what I want it to (and is lower profile also!). Not sure why these aren't recommended more for cyclists? It also does not support power meters, I don't own one so irrelevant to me...

Unmet Expectations
I received this refurbished watch as a replacement after experiencing Live Track failures with two previous devices from the same brand. It arrived ahead of schedule and appeared to be in like-new condition, but it has significant battery performance issues. Although the battery indicator estimates up to 12 days on a full charge, the watch drops below 20% or shuts down completely by the following morning. As a result, it must remain on the charger overnight to be usable the next day. I completed all recommended troubleshooting steps, but the issue persists. Unfortunately, this watch did not resolve the Live Tracking issues, which leads me to believe the underlying problem may be software-related. I had been considering an upgrade, but after problems with a third watch, I no longer view this as a reliable option. I hope this feedback helps to resolve both issues.

Forerunner 165 too complicated
There are so many options available that it is very difficult to setup and navigate. I am replacing a 20+ year old Forerunner. I only need basics to manage time, pace and GPS miles. This is classic case of too much technology.

Won over a reluctant user!
Great watch! I bought for my husband to track his runs (after him fighting me for years) and he is very impressed with it and said he should have gotten one sooner!

Really like the easy to see display.
I would have rated this watch 5 stars if instructions were included. Over the past years, I went through 4 VivoFit watches. I had no problem figuring out how to time my walks & runs. I really like my Forerunner 165 but, it came with no complete instructions, i have many issues. My sleep was tracked for the first 2 weeks. Now after having to charge it back up, it is not. It tells me, "No sleep detected". I don't know how to start & stop my walks, etc. If I could just get some clear instructions, I could rate it 5 stars in my next review. Thanks.

Easy transition!
Switching from Apple Watch because it didn’t sync well with heart rate monitor and other sensors. My forerunner has made that so much easier. I’m so glad I made the change. The only thing I haven’t figured out yet is syncing with my Dexcom g7, but based on my research that seems to be a challenge for many. I am loving Harmon and my Tacx trainer!

Proud Apple Watch Convert!
I received the Forerunner 165 as an early Mother's Day gift, and I am loving it! I switched over to Garmin after battery issues with my Apple Watch -- so glad that I did. Great sleep and stress information, amazing battery life and so much more data!

Great watch.
The watch is great, my only suggestion is that it could have a larger screen.

2nd forerunner
This is my second forerunner. The first one lasted many years. Garmin has an excellent product. I use it for running and also I am a teacher and it comes in very handy during my school day in timing my students and their running too. I love the data on my sleep and heart rate. Thank you Garmin!

Cellphone application challenges
My daughter gave me this watch as a gift after experiencing a minor heart attack. I was able to download the application on my computer but have never been able to figure out how to use the application on my cellphone. If there is someone I can talk to in order to utilize the Garmin application on my cellphone would be great. The watch itself has been a great motivator in maintaining a routine level of exercise primarily focused on cardio. However, I would like nothing more to measure my progress on my cellphone.

Decent watch so far-troublesome software.
The watch is easy enough to read and has plenty of options but the set up of the watch has been a problem. I expect to be able to hit the activity button, easily pick run and hit start like my prior garmin watches. This will work one day, and then the next the "run" option will not be there but some workouts and other options. It changes from day to day and I have not asked for periodic workouts. When you about to start a race or a run you don't want to start looking for the right option. I am trying t remove all the other option even though I would like to try them sometime because I can't have the random menus changing when you want to start a run.

Excellent tracking and display, a major step up
I bought my 165 as a replacement for my 55 Forerunner. The 165 improves upon the 55 not only in its tracking of running and fitness data, but also in its sleep tracking, which is more detailed and seems to be significantly more accurate. The display is also a step-up.

Better products and apps available.
The watch is okay. Apps not so much. Having two apps is uncalled for today. Took the watch back and will return to Amazfit.

Doesn't live up to the hype
Used this watch to record an 22 mile endurance hike and it only recorded half my steps. so now I'm questioning is the other data is accurate. battery life is also only 3 days max.

I upgraded from my Garmin 55 and am so happy I did! The 55 still works fine, just battery life was becoming unreliable after 6 years.

Very powerful
I bought this a few weeks ago am still discovering what it can do. Definitely more complex than any I’ve had before. A few types of exercise have not been found as of yet, but not giving up on it.

Love the Forerunner
I love that this watch is easy to use. I had my last Forerunner for 12 years, and everyone was recommending that I upgrade to some fancier Garmin, but I stuck with this one. It has all the features I need and more.
