Summary of reviews

This fitness band offers a variety of features such as step tracking, sleep monitoring, and customizable watch faces. However, many guests have reported issues with the heart rate monitor's accuracy, syncing problems, and the band coming undone. While it has a good battery life and is comfortable to wear, its reliability as a fitness tracker is questionable.

Frequently disconnects from music app, music controls don't work

Thumbs down graphic, would not recommend
    MS - 1 month ago
I needed a basic smartwatch for my jobs as a home health therapist and fitness instructor, but this watch became unreliable after about 2 months. I was unable to use the music controls to adjust the volume, play, pause, etc. and the phone would frequently disconnect from the phone. The battery quality also declined in a short period of time. Don't recommend.

It sounds like the Band 7 is not responding correctly anymore. Please try to factory reset the watch to see if that will resolve the issue. The reset option is found under the watch's Settings -> System. Please note you will need to unpair all previous connections before you are able to pair it back up. Please make sure the watch is unpaired from your phone's Bluetooth settings. Next make sure you unpair it on the Zepp app by going to Profile -> Amazfit Band 7 -> Unpair. After that is done then you can go through the pairing process in the Zepp app. Open the Zepp app and go to Profile -> Add Device -> Band -> Band has a QR code, to scan the QR code to pair back the Band 7. If it does not resolve the issue then it will be covered under warranty. Please email us your proof of purchase to support@amazfit.com and one of our representatives would be happy to set up the RMA for you. Michael | Amazfit Support

    Defective band closure

I enjoyed using the item but it constantly fell off because of a defective band design so ultimately I lost it on a walk. I would not recommend anyone get this model until they have a better band that doesn’t pop right open.

I really enjoyed using this watch, but it constantly kept popping open and the band would fall off. Eventually, I lost it on a walk after owning it for only two months. I would not recommend this watch until they fix their defective band issue.

The ratings don't lie. Buy this . It's amazing. I've been a Fitbit user since 2015. This is a change that I am happy I made.

Works well. This is the third one for me in 3 years. Good assessment of health. My only wish is for it to have an aqua aerobic fitness feature. I use the walking feature instead. Overall, for the price it works for what I need

This is a nice little watch, but of its many functions, only the step counter & heart rate (HR) actually work reasonably well. The HR is accurate & matches that of my HR-strap based watch. However, it only checks your heart rate every 10ish minutes. That's fine if we're just sitting around, but not great when our activity level varies. It's my impression that it checks a little more often if it's running one of its workout programs, but I'm not sure. If you have a small wrist (under 6"), the band doesn't hold the watch firmly to your arm, so this will also affect the HR that it measures. Having an inaccurate HR does, of course, completely mess with your calorie count. When I'm wearing it along with my HR-monitor-strap watch during a workout, the Amazfit calorie count is 30-50% lower than the count that uses the HR monitoring strap. The step count is decent, within 10% one way or another of what I get with my phone. The other functions are pretty funky; not sure that I would trust their data. Plus many of them have to be accessed/explained using the app. I've found that synching with the app doesn't work well (maybe I just don't have the patience), so it's difficult to set some of the other functions. The bottom line is that this is a cute watch, but the only thing that I find trustworthy is the step counter.

Was great until it disappeared. Band is not secure. I had this for a couple weeks and thought it was exactly what I needed. I’d read a review about the band not being the best but I was sure I’d be careful enough to keep it on. Seemed secure most of the time. But I bought a big bag of dog food. Hauled it over my shoulder. Threw it in the trunk of my car. When I got home I realized the amazfit was gone. It wasn’t in the trunk. Probably back at the pet supplies store. Such a bummer.

    Love my Amazfit 7

I love my amazfit 7. I somehow got it into theater mode and took me sometime to get it back to normal. Other than that, battery life is almost two weeks. Steps seem to be fairly accurate and it tells me when I've been sitting too long. Like that I can measure oxygen level and beats per minute. Tracks sleep well. Highly recommend because of price versus pricey others.

Learning the basics when the print is so small and hard to read causes limitations in learning how to use the watch. The color bands or horseshoe track has little meaning because of this. And can the layout of the clock face be changed? I also don't like the watchband tucking back into the inside as it causes a tighter fit. What about a simple watchband?

Replaced watch band. Like the vibrating notifications feature, can read texts on the watch, know when I get a phone call, and can set alarms and timers if I'm in a noisy or very quiet place

I have been using the 7 now for a few weeks and I really like it for pool swim walking I had the 5 but after about 4 months it just wouldn’t calculate properly and I constantly had to reboot. So far good with the 7 and I make a point of rinsing watch with water when done swimming

I bought this band twice because I thought the first one was broken. It just doesn’t work. Heart rate monitor never works so it’s kind of pointless. If you just want to count steps save your money and buy a cheap one. Without the monitor none of the other features like stress management or PAI work. Did a whole spin class and it said i burned 2 calories. Save your money this band ain’t it.

    Heartrate monitor broken

Regardless of anything else, there's a fatal flaw in this. The heartrate monitor can be so inaccurate, it breaks all other measurements. It seemed to take every movement of my arm while doing some light sparring with the boxing mode activated as a heartbeat, and it wound up with is saying my heartrate was about 100 over the actual rate. This broke my calorie count, PAI rating, and EPOC training load measurement. For $50 I guess it can be used a a costumizable watch? But as a fitness band, it's worthless.
