Q: Does the desk have to be installed or can we leave out the desk? Also, can it be put together so that the drawers open to the outside of the bed instead of towards the underneath of the loft?

Leaving it out may compromise the bed's stability. Regarding the drawers, unfortunately, we are unable to change the orientation so that they open to the outside of the bed rather than towards the underside of the loft. Have a nice day!

Q: Is there an option for the bed without the stairs and a ladder instead?

Worse than Ikea by 10 fold

Absolute nightmare to assemble. Way too many parts, unlabeled pieces, holes not drilled out fully, it took two of us an entire day and a half to assemble. No less than 500 pieces
