A: The clips on the bottom shelf are to hold the upper part in place when it is removed and put away.

A: According to the direction of "off" adjustment is the brake, the direction of "on" is the activity, pay attention to check whether the installation is wrong. The clamp on the bottom shelf has no effect when using.

I purchased this rack twice and returned twice. On both occasions, the rack arrived damaged with no packaging in a ripped box. The metal poles were just thrown haphazardly in the box. The pole was bent and I could not assemble due to its condition. I had to return to the store twice. This third party vendor has no regard for the end consumer.

Small space saving dream
This is a small space saving dream. I was able to fit a wardrobe and 2 sides of a large closet onto the base of this rack not to mention more bc the sides extend. I was able to hang about 30 blazers on each side it’s amazing and took five min to build

Clothing Rack Review
This is a great product! So easy to put together - a few clicks and it was done. I am using it to hang my wreaths on - and it holds 12 wreaths without pulling out the extensions. I have 2 more on the shelfs. It rolls so I can easily move it should I need to get into a rack behind it. I tried another brand which was supposed to be easy to assemble and it was a nightmare - the pieces kept popping out. Thrilled with this! And it is heavy weight and holds alot of weight!
