Q: You mention the dimensions of the mattress needed but you don't mention anything specfic. Will any 6" three-fold mattress fit inside when it is closed up? Can you give examples of actual mattresses?

Terrible customer service at Target! I would reconsider before purchasing any large/heavy items from this company. I live on the third floor and there is no elevator. As I’ve had delivery issues with large items previously, I called ahead to let them know and was told there would be no issues. On the day of delivery I found my very large, heavy packages were left downstairs. Target took no accountability for the carrier and no assistance to get it to my door. I ended up having to hire a couple guys and spend another $75 to get part of my order to my door. The third box has not arrived yet and I assume I’ll need to hire someone again for that one. Target: you are responsible to get your product to the customer. This means partnering with a good and reliable carrier. This also means taking accountability for the carrier and providing customers with a solution when issues arise.

Durable and ideal space saving bed with lots of storage

I looked low & high for a murphy bed chest... this was the best combo of value (bought it for 30% off, totalling $1,100) + durability + function I could find. It shipped in 3 boxes (about 80 lbs each) extremely fast & everything arrived in great condition. No damages in the shipping process! Instructions were fairly straight forward. Assembly takes a few hours because there's a LOT of pieces. Tip: use a power drill to screw everything in if you have one. Hand screwing 100+ screws is just nuts. Fits a standard sized tri-fold Queen mattress perfectly. We have a 4" thick mattress folded up and there's still soooo much room in the chest and bottom drawer for additional storage. Yay! It sleeps comfortably and is durable enough. The quality of the materials are good. The bottom drawer is huge and hefty; the only drawback is it's very low to the ground so thick rugs could be an issue. Be sure the whole bed is on carpet/rug otherwise the drawer will get stuck. If you're looking for a guest bed alternative, this is perfect. Buy it. You won't regret it.
