Can't imagine packing lunch without one of these anymore
These are great lunch boxes. I've been using the same one for almost 3 years with all sorts of food, wet and dry. They have saved thousands of sandwich and snack bags from entering the landfill. The trays are easy to wash and do just fine in the dishwasher. The outer shell, however, will warp and become difficult to close if you put them in the dishwasher. The gasket like seal will also degrade faster using the dishwasher to clean them or even by drying them with a rough hand. Best to hand wash the outer shell and allow to air dry, or pat dry. Some of these reviews talk about mold and how quickly they deteriorate but that has to be from improper care. I've accidentally left things in this over the weekend without mold developing. But over the holiday some blueberries were left inside for 4 days and tiny dark spots in the rubbery material over that compartment aren't washing away, could be mold, could be crushed blueberry bits that stained it. I'll never know. I do wish bentgo had a recycle program though. Improper care of these surely creates a bigger chunk of plastic that won't break down than a few hundred sandwich bags.

Hoping for the best
This is our third Bentgo box. We love the color and sparkles, however it doesn't seem to be as sturdy as the last ones. We hope it lasts. I am concerned that the surface seems to absorb color and that didn't happen with the others we purchased.

Pros and cons
Positives: cute, colorful, well designed for kids to be able to clip themselves, and seems durable. Negatives: really small. I don’t feel that I can fit enough food in there for my preschooler with a big appetite.

They show all the dirt.
I like the compartments, they’re handy. We have the bigger ones without the middle compartment and I like it, it’s fun to put a small treat in. The downside is definitely the soft, silicon-like trim. My husband asked if the kids were working in coal mines after the first use. These ones pick up every bit of dirt they touch. Even that would be fine if they came clean again. Our dishwasher is a work horse and these were still stained after they went through the wash…. After being used at school for one day. I love the brand but we’ll still to the ones that are all hard plastic.

Love the product, hate that it broke.
Love the product, but the lips to secure the lid have both broken off. Is there a way to purchase a replacement COVER? We still have the inside, was hoping we might have some options to re-use what we already purchased.

Hard for a kid to work!
Not kid or adult friendly! Too hard to put together, broke one of the prongs off the lid almost immediately. Hard to put it together, especially for a child hard to clasp together. What sad is I bought three!
