Dissapointing durability
Not built to last or even to be maintained, fell apart at the plastic ball joint. Can't find replacement part, now I have to buy a whole replacement showerhead. Annoying, and very wasteful.

Cheap plastic on critical part.
We love the functionality of this shower head, especially the Magnetix method of holding the shower head at the correct height. However, after less than three months of use, the shower head cradle (179700) broke on the ball joint part. Buying a replacement part costs half as much as the whole unit. While maybe this isn't the most expensive shower head in the world, it shouldn't have been made so cheaply that critical parts are made of cheap plastic that breaks so easily. I was looking at the #3662EPBL shower head as a better quality replacement and then I realized from the reviews that it seems to have the same problem with the same part. The ball joint should be good quality metal that can hold up to the test of time, not cheap plastic.

The cheap plastic components split after 6 months
Lasted exactly 6 months, when the plastic part #179700 cracked and sprayed water all over the bathroom. These cheap plastic components split when flexed (such as re-positioning the direction of flow of the shower head) - ours lasted, as I said earlier, exactly 6 months before the plastic split causing leakage.

Would be 5 Stars if made out of all metal.
I purchased this item about ten years ago and the shower "Customizable Spray" handle just broke on 9/29/25. It broke because it is made of plastic not metal. I purchase MOEN because it is supposed to be made for life. I am required to agree to the terms & conditions even though it violates my rights to freedom of speech/text.

Wish it had worked out long term
It was great while it lasted but it broke 3 months in. The plastic broke and the shower head fell. I can’t seem to find the part to replace it versus buying a whole new one.

Nice shower head
The shower head and magnet is great, it changed my water pressure tremendously. Only problem is that you cannot use a channel lock to tighten it, it does break the plastic pieces

Easy Handle Storage
Priced right. Good Magnetex head. Would prefer a different hose, softer covering.

Magnetic Mount is Superb!
Installation was simple and quickly accomplished. I am impressed with the strength of the magnetic 'docking' and the ease with which the shower head can be removed and replaced. Each of the 6 spray settings has a positive 'click' position and there's no delay between modes as the shower head's dial is rotated. For anyone who has good water pressure, the 1.75 GPM flow rate is certainly sufficient. I am pleased with the output. If used with a shower caddy, keep in mind that the hose will likely require one which has a central gap. Otherwise the hose could restrict the downward tilt angle of the docking fitting attached to the shower's pipe.

Lasted six years!!
Great product at a reasonable price. Lasted almost six years in our home. Two of the small nozzles (jets) recently separated from the head. The resultant spray pattern makes a bit of a mess.

Poor Quality
I thought Moen was famous for its quality but I was wrong. What company attaches the magnetic shower head with a cheap plastic ring to attach to the water source. I have had 3 plastic rings break and water spews all over the bathroom. Very, very poor quality I am very disappointed in Moen. Do not buy this product!

Lacks shut off. Fine otherwise.
Just bought this to replace another brand. The other brand had a small lever to switch settings. That lever was hard to turn and finally broke. This looked like a great replacement. Easy to switch settings and the magnetic holder was a big plus. However, there is no shutoff. So you have to leave the water running when shampooing your hair, etc which defeats the water saving features. So this is not usable for us and I will be returning it. On the ratings, I wish there was a “don’t know” or “not applicable” because I can’t rate durability on something I just bought.

Hello Loneieagle and thank you for the feedback you posted on the Moen website. We are sorry to hear the Moen Engage With Magnetix Eco-Performance Handshower In Matte Black did not meet your complete expectations. We would suggest the Moen 26013BL Engage Matte Black Six-Function Standard with Handshower. This unit has a 3-way diverter that provides the ability to flow each shower head separately or combined for more coverage. When the diverter is switched to handheld only, the handheld showerhead has a pause/trickle button that allows to momentarily pause the handshower flow at a push of a button. Should you require any warranty assistance, please feel free to contact us directly.

Great Showerhead
Bought this in early 2019 for my new-to-me house and it works great! The only issue I’ve had is the original connection cracking and leaking but that didn’t start until mid-2023. I’ve contacted Moen to see if they can replace the part. The connections that come with it are plastic but I kind of wish the connection to the actual shower faucet was a little more durable and/or made of metal. As I understand it they stand by their parts though so if I can get a replacement piece that’ll be perfect! Love the magnetic feature and the pressure. Uses way less water than my original shower head too. Showers are never an issue with the water bill as far as I can tell.

Nice update and easy to use
First week of using this handheld shower head. Like magnetic connect and twist knob to select spray options. Replaced old unit within ten minutes, and no leaks. Love the chrome color and the hose length is adequate. First experience with a handheld unit. It is 2.0 GPM. Like the 5 spray options but none are medium pressure. The outside ring of spray is low pressure and uses 3 holes and might be stronger if it just used 2 holes. The inside two spray choices is strong and splatters a lot when rinsing hair. Previous shower head had 5 spray options and was a higher GPM so the water pressure of the outer ring spray was a bit stronger. Maybe another model just uses the outside two holes but the documentation and specs do not describe the spray features. The shower head tilts down by turning the ribbed large gray knob The handle is too long to tilt down all the way. Would like the shower head to be able to point down more but with the handle length I would have to mount sideways or get 2" longer shower stubout so the head can point down.
