Evapolar evaCHILL Personal Evaporative Air Cooler and Humidifier (Lavender)

This product did what it was supposed to, but at the expense of my health. When I first opened it up and inspected the filter there was a lot of dust/particles coming off it. The box said this was normal due to the material of the filter and to just wipe it off. Once I did that, I filled the cooler with water and placed it on my desk pointed at me about 3-4 feet away. I immediately started coughing excessively. I thought maybe it was just because it was new. I moved it, so it was not pointing at me directly. However, the next day I woke up very congested and with a cough. I was sick for almost 2 weeks after using this just once. Filter aside, it did what it was intended for. I filled the water to its max and it lasted around 6 hours at the low/medium level with the light off. It is very quiet and not at all bothersome noise-wise at these levels. However, you have to point it directly at you for you to feel any coolness. The coolness feels like a nice cool breeze vs an actual AC vent hitting you or a standard fan pointed at you. It did lower the temperature about 5 degrees at the area where it was pointed at. It did not change the overall temperature of the small room I was working at though. I liked the little handle that made it easy to transport from room to room. Aesthetic-wise, it was pretty cute and I liked the ocean blue color. Overall, I think there is something with the filter material that may irritate some people’s respiratory systems and may cause cold-like symptoms. I would not recommend to those that are sensitive. Try it out at your own risk.

Efficient and downright cute! I wasn't aware how well our Evachill was filtering our air until we replaced our filter after 6 months. HOLY MOLY. I bought one for my husband, who now snores considerably less (thank heavens!!), my mom-in-law who says she no longer wakes up with sinus headaches, and my brother-in-law (for his upcoming birthday). You have 3 rave reviews from this family alone. Thank you! Oh, and customer service is crazy fast and helpful. (I also have a picture of the old filter if you want to post this review.)

It's small, trendy and cool. Very easy to operate and doesn't consume much energy

I don't like air conditioners because of how hard it is to change the filter in them. I find this air cooler is a better option

I can compare it with a regular fan I used to turn on in the past when the heat was exhausting. This little thing is MUCH MORE COOLING.

I cannot sleep with a big air con as it makes too much annoying noise. Evapolar is quiet but does almost the same thing: makes me cool at night.

When I realized I needed a product like Evapolar, I was traveling a lot for work and pleasure. The places I stayed often had little or no air conditioning, so I wanted to have a small unit that I could use whenever I needed to.

Excellent product, gives a good feeling of freshness ... it really works. Portable, esthetic, easy to use. I really like it!!
