Q: Can I point this at the ceiling or is it difficult to mount at that kind of angle? Also- is it LED or an old school lamp projector?

A: This projector has an adjustable tilt but isn’t designed to project directly at the ceiling. For that, using the built-in 1/4" tripod mount with an articulating tripod works great to get the perfect angle! It features a long-lasting 50,000-hour LED bulb, so no old-school lamps here.

A: Hi Anti190, Yes! Try turning the focus dial to fine-tune the picture, and use the tilt dial to adjust the angle, it can really help sharpen the image. Aiming it at the right height and distance makes a big difference!

A: Hi Frustrated, the device does have an adjustable tilt, but it’s not really designed to project directly at the ceiling. I’d recommend using the built-in 1/4" tripod mount with an articulating tripod to easily aim it upward.

Came with none of the attachment cords, so no HDMI cord or anything. It was difficult to make the screen larger and even with batteries couldn’t get the remote to work. It’s cute, but I was a little disappointed.

Immediately after one use the focus button stopped working. Doesn’t come with any cords besides the power cord. You would think it would come with an hdmi or something. Junky. Returning.

Disappointing Experience with Two Units

We really wanted to love this projector, but unfortunately had issues with 2 different ones that we purchased. The first projector had a visible speck or piece of dust inside the lens that showed up clearly in the projected image. We tried cleaning the exterior, but the spot was clearly internal and could not be removed. It was very distracting during use, especially on lighter backgrounds, so we returned it. Hoping it was just a one off, we ordered a replacement. This second unit had a different issue, the focus ring was completely stuck. No matter how hard we tried, it wouldn’t budge even slightly, making it impossible to adjust the focus. That made the entire unit unusable. Returned both and will not be purchasing again.

This is really cool. I actually like to use this indoors instead of having to get tv mounted up. Adjusting the focus can be a bit tricky but once you figure it out, you’ll get a quicker handle of it. Does make some humming noises when you have it on.

Got this to do smores and a movie in the backyard. I was really impressed that the projector had sound onboard. I used a Roku stick to connect via the hdmi port and then used the Roku app to connect via Bluetooth to my Sonos roam for extra sound. For the size and setup, I think the value is pretty good. The video quality is what I would expect for this product. I would recommend this as a starter projector to see if you would use it.

Great little projector with plenty of choices for input. It even has two (2) HDMI inputs and an USB connection for multiple standby connections. The base has a simple elevation adjustment plus a screw base to attach to a separate tripod stand. The lens adjusts for depth and skew and the picture is completely adjustable in the expansive menu. The cooling fan is pretty loud so there's some distraction and the Lens Cap doesn't stay securely on when transporting the unit. It just keeps falling off. For an inexpensive option, this is a great little projector that can do it all.

I recently bought the 1280x720 portable projector from Hearth & Hand with Magnolia, and I'm really impressed. It’s compact, stylish, and easy to set up. The image quality is surprisingly clear for the resolution, and it's perfect for cozy movie nights. Definitely a charming, functional addition to my space.

This is been such a fantastic addition to our outdoor routine. It’s so easy to set up and it gives me such a great picture and it’s so nice to be able to watch movies outside. We’ve used it inside and it shows up great on a wall as well. I love the unique style and that it even looks like a stand out decor piece.

This projector has been the perfect addition to our play room! We put it on a high shelf, facing a blank wall, and instantly we have a huge movie screen for those cold winter days! We use a Roku device to get our streaming services we like. The sound is perfect for what we need it for, but if you’re going to use it in a large room-you may want to plug in an additional speaker.

My first experience using a projector and the Hearth & Hand with magnolia projector was more than I expected. We had a great time with friends showing up the superbowl in our back yard. I like that it has a built-in speakers and remote.

We received this product as a member of the #heybullseye program @target in exchange for my honest review. We've had experience with these projectors before, so not total newbies,but excited to try this one, as our old one we have to add a speaker to it, theres no built in speaker. In the past, we've used ours outdoors, poolside, for our teen and young adult kiddos. It's a pretty teal/light blue and not super bulky. Pretty simple plug in, BUT, grab your remote batteries, there's none included. My husband tried(and he's pretty tech savvy) to use it with his phone but was unsuccessful. Using the laptop was MUCH easier and pretty quick. Since we were trying to get an honest review, we used it indoors against a solid painted wall. He pulled up you tube videos, so we would see video, print, etc. We tried putting it up on a stack of books but when he would try to focus, the edges were pretty fuzzy. He made it straight, so no angles, same. That's pretty much why we gave the 3 stars. Yes, pretty simple set up, but in the long run, you want a clear picture. Disappointed in the quality of the picture. You can see near the bottom and somewhat the top, the fuzzy edges. I wouldn't recommend unless it's for little littles, watching cartoons where quality isn't as important.

My first impression was that this projector is adorable, both in size and aesthetics. However, it's not quite as portable as I expected because there isn't a Bluetooth option (so I needed to plug into my computer) and it needs to be plugged in (fine inside, outside would require a long extension cord). The motor is also very loud, although maybe that's common for projectors, I have nothing to compare to. Finally, the image quality is a bit blurry from 12 feet away. I moved the projector about 8-10 feet from the wall to get a clearer picture, but that limited the size of the image. My kids love that we can watch movies in my bed now, so it's still fun, but if I wanted to it for every day use I would probably look elsewhere.

This projector is super cute and the remote is very convenient. The projector screen is bright and easy to use when the lights off. Only downside is that I wish it was bluetooth. The cords can be very inconvenient, especially when using outside.

This compact projector is great! It has a lot of convenient features, and it's cute, too. There is a foot o the bottom that adjusts the angle of the projector. On top, there are two easy-to-adjust knobs, one for focus, the other to square the picture. It accepts several different kinds of input, and has an infrared remote with many functions, which takes 2 AAA batteries The power cord is about 5' long. I plan to use this in conjunction with my phone's camera to demonstrate art techniques to my classes! Excellent product!

This is perfect for family movie night! It’s really simple and easy to use. It’s not so high tech and fragile that I worried about my kids near it or about bringing it outside. You plug it into the wall and then plug in some source to watch what you want. The sound was loud enough for a small crowd and the picture gets pretty big! We plan on using it outside during the summer!

This projector is such a pretty color. It comes with a power cable and remote. The projector features a focus dial on the lens. The instructions are simple and clear so you can plug in your devices to play through the projector. Overall it works well.
